Chapter 1067: Deployment Of Realms
Chapter 1067: Deployment Of Realms
This was always the issue when it came to fighting the Doctor. Alice knew it full well ever since their first exchange in the north, and it was only proven further right now.No matter their firepower, there was something different about the Doctor. Something that kept him alive no matter what.
She couldn’t even use her artifact either since she was technically hitting him.
Just not the ’thing’ keeping him alive.
His soul and physical body were here. Or at least from what Alice could tell. But there must be a ’core’ that kept everything intact.
And without destroying that core, killing him was impossible.
’Cayla, did you see anything that might help us find out why this prick is immortal?’ Alice asked, but Cayla quickly shook her head.
She had already been cross referencing everything she’d seen thus far, and nothing she’d found could help in their case.
This was a completely original creation by the Doctor with no prior information at all.
In which case, there was little she could do to help Alice out.
[The energy surrounding him is too muddled. Can’t pick anything out.] Cayla complained with a deep frown.
There were too many links extending from the Doctor’s body. Too many ’possible’ answers that going through them one by one was impossible.
’What if we cut them apart one by one? Since we have the relic, we can just slash all of them, no?’ Alyss interjected, but Cayla quickly shut that notion down.
[Too risky. We’ll be forced to get into close quarters combat with the Doctor. Not only that, but we have no idea how much he knows about the Soul. Alice had already made some modifications to try to offset her low soul defence, but knowing the Zenia’s connection to the Moon, I won’t be surprised if the Doctor has a trump card up his sleeve.
[Any ’testing’ that we do is one that could risk our safety. Ideally, I would much rather prefer having a slight idea of what the fck we can be hitting rather than just throwing random sht at the wall and seeing what sticks.] Cayla started to swear, tossing sheets behind her as her eyes darted from one report to another.
Scouring through the countless files for even a hint that could lead up to such a creation.
Taking a deep breath, Alice exhaled slowly as her eyes scanned the battlefield.
Gin was being occupied by Theron, who was responsible for what seemed to be the extraction of the Reaper.
Nyer was watching everything go down, paying little attention to their battles. Most of his focus was on the Reaper.
The Elven Royal Guard was fighting against the Doctor with her while the other guard occupied the Outer God.
Karya was providing support while the only ones free were Elias, Nalem, and Lab. She didn’t even want to consider Allura as a possibility considering her health.
Therefore, in this kind of battle...
Only Lab could do something.
But what?
They needed to turn the tides somehow. To break this balance.
Just defeating one Lord wouldn’t be enough. They needed something to completely shatter what Nyer was planning.
Namely, the removal of the Reaper.
What could the Lord of Cinders do in this current battle...
Alice’s mind began to spin. She simulated combinations between her current tools and the Lords on hand.
What could she possibly do in order to turn the tide in their favour?
Removing her relic proved to be difficult. After all, it meant that Nyer could use his space seal once more.
But not having it also meant that her allies couldn’t use their personal domains.
And by doing so, it meant removing the possibilities that could’ve been open to them.
They technically had more Lords on their side.
"Elias, Nalem, you should probably get as far away as possible." Alice grinned as she crouched down and jumped back.
Seeing this, Allura realised Alice was probably planning something chaotic.
Only through a chaotic battlefield could new unexpected variables appear.
A smirk appeared on Allura’s face as she turned around and walked a short distance before sitting down and lighting a cigarette.
"Is this far enough, my dear?" Allura asked, crossing her legs while Alice let out a helpless smile.
"Erm... maybe a bit further than that, Allura." Alice’s smile twitched.
"Apapap! That’s the wrong thing to call me. After everything I said in front of the Royals, you want to call me by my name?" Allura laughed, resting her chin on her knuckles.
Alice choked on her cough as her face turned red from embarrassment.
"Really? Is this really the time?" Alice tried to divert the topic while glancing at the Elven Lord who kept the Doctor at bay.
Her expression was growing more and more impatient as she realised Alice and Allura were joking around.
Meanwhile, she was fighting for her life here!
"It’s just a word, dear. How hard can it be?"
"This... Erm... Fine..." Alice grumbled. "Can you move a bit further away please... Mom."
Allura smiled with satisfaction and stood up.
Without hesitation, she grabbed both Nalem and Elias by their collars like stray cats. Even if her energy was mostly sealed off, her physical strength was still on another level.
"Have fun out there~"
With Allura finally retreating from the battle, Alice let out a sigh of relief before turning her attention back to the battle currently breaking out around her.
Slamming her palm down, blood erupted from her feet, merging with the tides that the Elven Lord had created in order for Alice to save energy.
Simultaneously, she sent messages to each of her allies with the exception of Gin, who couldn’t move.
The message was simple.
On her signal, release your Second Resonance.
A command to completely force the battlefield to change into a chaotic mess of domains and rules.
To force clashes of multiple Laws so that Nyer and the others couldn’t establish an easy advantage over them.
Lab and Karya both glanced at Alice and decided to trust her. The Elven Lord and the other Royal Guard were a little more hesitant.
Unfortunately, there was little they could do to change this as this was the first time the guards had fought with Alice.
They weren’t prepared for the level of chaos she would bring. Namely, the willingness to try anything and everything in a battle in order to turn things in her favour!
With two of the Lords now understanding her plan, Alice glared at the Doctor and narrowed her eyes.
Snapping her finger, all of the blood she summoned turned black as her artifact deactivated and returned to her side.
The sudden pressure of Alice’s blood was the signal as Karya and Lab acted instantly!
Second Resonance!
Karya was the fastest as her personal domain was already half deployed thanks to her earlier preparations. Without hesitation, her wings covered her eyes as golden tears dripped from the ’blindfolds’.
Golden shards manifested in the air, linking together and transforming into a giant halo that hovered above the battlefield.
Stakes of radiant light crashed down from above, forming giant spears that swallowed the area.
A phantasmal cathedral shimmered to life, its foundations fading away while marbled towers pierced towards the sky.
A colossal cathedral where the bells tolled and light so overwhelming that one found it hard to stare at the main tower.
Rising from the centre, a single statue with both hands raised towards the sky could be seen as holy ichor poured through the gaps of her fingers.
Second Resonance, Heart of Eden.
Next was Lab.
She took a step forward as ’snow’ fell from the sky and covered the battlefield.
But should one look closer, they would realise that this was not snow but rather ash. Cinder ash rained down while large black spiked mountains burst out from the ground, trapping everyone inside an arena of ash and molten rock.
Lab cracked her neck, dark armour covering her body while flaming red hair fluttered beneath the molten helmet that had just manifested.
There was now a gaping hole in her chest where her heart would’ve been and instead, a single raging flame could be seen.
Summoning her sword, Lab stabbed it into the ground, igniting the world around her in flames.
Lab had successfully deployed her Second Resonance, Ashen Crucible!
Heaven and hell merged into one with the cathedral representing life just out of reach while their feet walked upon the molten hell of Lab’s creation.
With these two personal realms being the fastest to deploy, they were given priority over the Rules they could set.
The Elven Lord clenched her teeth.
She was too slow!
The water around her bubbled and boiled, evaporating slowly as she could feel her power slowly decreasing with each passing second.
She couldn’t understand it.
How were two Lords able to trust someone without full authority so easily?
Sure, the girl could force herself to reach the realm of Lord, but it was not a stable one.
Regardless, what’s done is done and using her own Second Resonance right now was simply asking to suffer from backlash.
She had no choice but to swallow her bitterness and fight on!
With the sudden deployment of two realms, Nyer turned his attention towards Lab and Karya.
So did Theron.
The Doctor didn’t care and neither did the Outer God.
But this shift in attention was exactly what Alice wanted.
A gap in this chaotic situation where she could try an idea of her own while seeking new possibilities.
To make the most of the time she was afforded.
Her Sigils shifted in pattern.
Abilities swapped out and activated. The incomplete authority of Life surrounded her body and then...
The inversion of Duality to Death.
Alice turned her eyes towards the Reaper.
"I’m right here."
