Chapter 276 No Wonder the Crystal Coffin Glows—There's an Old Demon Inside!

Rita knew that Jameson definitely had a way to sense her actions. After all, if he could deduce things through the blood curse on Sanchez, he was far from ordinary. Yet, Jameson still didn't react. So, Rita opened another food container and placed it beside the crystal coffin. "According to our pact, I've brought Miyaas's remains. I'll count down from ten. If you don't give me the Dragon Ancestor's reverse scale, you're dead. Ten, nine, eight..."

The coffin quickly began to glow—faster than a phone booting up. As it lit up, the first thing Jameson saw upon waking was a big face of a goblin staring down at him. He also sensed the binding power of the oath, confirming that Miyaas's remains had indeed been brought to him.

Jameson asked, "How long has it been?"

It felt like he'd just closed his eyes! The Half Dream skill hadn't even given him a full second of wakefulness. That meant he had only been asleep for less than 10 natural days.

"Six, five..." Rita continued her countdown.@@@@

Jameson sensed the binding effect of the oath gem was kicking in. He hadn't expected this person to actually come back alive. Realizing he had no choice, he extracted a reverse scale from the dragon markings sealed within his body. In an instant, a crescent-shaped white dragon scale "floated" out from the stone sculpture.

Dragon Ancestor's Reverse Scale (Rare) – Exclusive to Dragons

Mental Resonance (SS)

Evil Dragon's Roar (S)

...and dozens of others, with the lowest being A-rank.

Rita calmly said, "Do you believe I could bring over a foreign powerhouse that's just as strong as Miyaas to attack here?" As long as she used the right trigger, no one would come unless they were a big shot. And when they did, she could escape. As for Jameson? She had no intention of saving him.

Jameson's response was quick, "The gun's in your hands, so whatever you say... I'll believe it! I believe you can bypass the oath. By the way, I have a trade offer. It's a backup plan I set up without Miyaas's knowledge. I can't control time anymore, and I can't read minds either. You can rest assured to listen to what I have to say!"

Rita: This person's mouth is faster than his brain now that he lost his time-rewind ability.

She took out Brooks's skill gem and crushed it right in front of Jameson.

At this point, Jameson had no immunity to skills. You can't read minds anymore, huh? Well, now it's my turn.

She carefully placed the food container with Miyaas's remains back into her game backpack and used Thunder Cage to seal Jameson's container before asking, "First, tell me—what's the deal with the giant whale's carcass? Is Miyaas really dead?"

Jameson responded, "Miyaas used a special method to hide his skeleton inside the whale's body. That's all I know. He didn't tell me the core details of the plan—he's a smart one, after all. My job was just to guide you to him and provide you with the materials needed for the ritual. I'm just a worker."

He continued, "But what he didn't know is that my wife and I secretly kept some of his blood and flesh when we first saved him. Back then, we were just curious about the taste of his fish tail. My wife even had the oil pan ready. But... Anyway, to get to the point, I wrote up his life resume in secret."

Jameson chuckled bitterly. "I already knew his ending before your story even began. He's a goner. He's got two possible endings, and in mine, he loses both times. The difference is, if he had waited for the person he needed, he might've had a chance, but now, it's all over for him."

Rita was stunned. Two possible endings? Does this mean last life and this life? Is it me and Rick? This is too much of a bug. Could other prophecies have multiple outcomes too?

Jameson sighed. "You don't even know who's coming for you, do you?"

Rita frowned. "Two possible endings? You mean you still don't know who's really after you?"

Jameson shook his head. "No, he's just like you—clever... He never trusted anyone. He didn't even let me use skills to summarize his life. He didn't like those destiny skills that show the results of events or people's fates directly. He believed they're like a death sentence, once you see them, everything you do gets influenced by them. He preferred the fate to give him a clue, and then he would find the way out himself."
