Chapter 108 "I'll wait for you in hell!
Soon.
Chen Yi and his group carried the man back to the hotel.
Tuberculosis Rabbit removed all the stitches from the man's mouth, then poured a basin of cold water over him. Looking at the middle-aged man slowly waking up, he brought his face close to his and started to smile.
"Awaken?"
The slowly awakening middle-aged man felt a sharp pain on his skin. Memories rushed into his mind like a tidal wave, and then he looked at the head so close to him.
With force, he spat a thick glob of phlegm onto Tuberculosis Rabbit's face, his expression fierce and angry as he yelled.
"You damned players, just kill me if you dare! You won't escape either!"
"Let's go to hell together!"
"..."
Tuberculosis Rabbit stood frozen in place for a moment before finally straightening up and taking out a mirror from his embrace. He looked at the handsome face in the mirror that now sported a glob of thick phlegm.
His expression calm, he carefully wiped it off with a wet wipe.
After ensuring it was completely clean, he reached out, grabbed the middle-aged man's mouth, and smiled.
"Brave."
Then he pulled out a Claw Knife from his embrace, the blade pointing directly at the man's gums, and stabbed fiercely into them.
Blood gushed forth.
He then levered it upwards sharply, prying out a bad tooth just like that.
"Ahhh!!!!"
The middle-aged man's scream of agony quickly filled the room; the resentment in his eyes turned to fear at this moment.
Standing aside, Sword Without End looked at Tuberculosis Rabbit with a complex expression, feeling a bit out of place. It would make sense if these things were happening to Chen Yi.
After all, Chen Yi's expressionless, cold demeanor made such acts hardly surprising.
But Tuberculosis Rabbit, who usually seemed playful and harmless, had such a ruthless side to him, which Sword Without End had not anticipated.
Not far away, the woman kneeling at the door saw this scene and felt a chill, burying her head in the floor as if to pretend she hadn't seen it, her body trembling slightly.
"The teeth are a bit yellow."
Tuberculosis Rabbit pulled out the Claw Knife, casually wiped it a few times on the middle-aged man's body to clean off the blood, then inserted the Claw Knife back into the man's mouth.
"You must smoke quite a bit. I'm in a good mood today, I'll help you pull out your teeth."
Before his words fell, he stabbed the knife again into the man's gums.
With a little effort, another tooth was pried out.
Incredibly swift and decisive.
Compared to those dentists who use water jets and hammers for a wisdom tooth removal, Tuberculosis Rabbit's movements were much simpler and more straightforward, almost like a qualified dentist.
"I was wrong, let me go, please."
The middle-aged man's body trembled from the severe pain, his eyes red with fear as he knelt on the ground, looking up at Tuberculosis Rabbit with a shaky voice, he said unclearly, "I was wrong, I beg you."
Large amounts of fresh blood mixed with bubbles spilled from the corner of the man's mouth.
Lying on the floor were two lonely teeth with bits of flesh on them.
"Wrong?"
Tuberculosis Rabbit raised his eyebrows, then with a satisfied expression, wiped the Claw Knife on the man's body a few more times and put it back into his embrace, signaling the man to look at Yi sitting in a chair nearby.
"If you had admitted your mistakes earlier, it would all have been fine. Mostly, I'm very amiable."
"It's just that you are too rebellious."
"It makes me look like some sort of violent criminal, which really ruins my image in front of the ladies."
"Yi has some questions for you. Answer them obediently, and your life will be spared."
"Really, you can't be that naughty in the future."
Three seconds.
Half a minute quickly passed.
"Um..."
Tuberculosis Rabbit slightly embarrassed, touched his nose, and said to the man lying on the ground who was not yet dead, "According to your script, you're supposed to spout some fierce words and then die gloriously, right?"
"But now that you're not dead, isn't it tiring to keep striking a pose?"
The middle-aged man lying in the pool of blood turned his head with difficulty to look at Tuberculosis Rabbit but didn't speak; the anger in his eyes intensified even further.
"Do you think it might have something to do with that mechanical heart of yours?"
"Do you want me to help you out?"
The middle-aged man nodded vigorously, then regained his emotional composure and looked at Chen Yi with an angry face, "You damned players, there will come a day when you will regret this. I will be waiting for you in hell!"
"Then, I will take your head..."
The voice suddenly stopped dead.
Tuberculosis Rabbit slowly withdrew his foot from the man's chest, shook his head looking at the mechanical heart he had just crushed, "This quality is not good, it broke with a single stomp."
"What if one day you fall and smash your own heart?"
"Shouldn't we be concerned about what this man said before he died?"
Sword Without End spoke up, his expression serious.
"Oh, that thing?"
Tuberculosis Rabbit shrugged indifferently and spread his hands, "Isn't it all pretty clear? It's all a bunch of messy conspiracy theories, nothing to be too surprised about."
"Isn't this kind of thing pretty normal?"
"After all, the May rules are still in effect. No one thinks the group that came up with these rules is some kind of charity organization, right?"
"As for players failing and turning into NPCs or whatever, who cares."
"Anyway, I'm with Yi. These issues are for Yi to think about, not me. I'm just an executor; thinking is not my job."
"..."
Sword Without End fell silent, not knowing quite how to respond.
This was clearly a serious issue, so why did Tuberculosis Rabbit not care at all?
But if asked to explain specifically what was serious about it, he felt as though he couldn't articulate it...
After a long while, he gave up thinking about it.
Not having to think felt really good.
He then turned his gaze together with Tuberculosis Rabbit to Chen Yi, who was sitting in a chair.
Let Chen Yi do the thinking.
"So..."
Chen Yi narrowed his eyes, pondering, and began, "So, there are actually countless props in this city? Then, from another perspective, could we not loot some of the city's props to take back with us?"
From the man's words, he had roughly figured out what this city was about.
And perhaps... he had also grasped the specifics of future version updates.
After musing for a moment, he then pointed with his cane to lift the head of the woman on the ground and asked, "Did you all hear him, do you know what he was talking..."
Before he could finish, he fell silent in place.
This woman, who had previously knelt on the ground very docilely, now had an incredibly eerie expression, staring at him with a smile that was not quite a smile.
It looked exceedingly creepy.
"..."
Chen Yi silently lit a cigarette, placed it in his mouth, and quickly used his cane to press down the woman's head again, then let out a light sigh.
"What's this about? It's somewhat frightening."
