Chapter 249: Playing Games with Her [3]

Amon and Amelia arrived in the games section, finally.
He turned back to her and gave her a wide smile.
"Trust me, after this day, you will get so addicted to games that you won't be able to let go of th-"
He wasn't able to complete his sentence as he was caught off guard by something.
Her cheeks were still red even though he had let go of her grip.
She was also averting her gaze, not meeting his eyes.
Intrigued, he leaned closer.
"Did something happen?" He asked, but Amelia quickly turned away her face.
"N-nothing."
Amon was taken aback by her quick response. What had gotten into her?
She wasn't this shy when he had held her hand before.
Did something else happen?
Not letting it go, he leaned even closer to meet her gaze and check what was happening.
"What happene-"
"No no no!" Amelia quickly turned him away, putting her hands on Amon's back as she tried to push him away.
"Go get the tickets quickly, I'm totally fine."
Amon wasn't able to articulate any response to her words.
Why was she so shy all of a sudden?
Though he was now even curious to see what happened, he chose to let it go.
"Alright." He nodded, giving her a smile before heading over to the counter.
Amelia watched his faded back go before releasing an intense sigh.
Although she was much composed now as compared to when they were walking in the hallway, the incident still replayed in her mind.
That shake..
One straw. The red lipstick marks on the same spot after she drank it...
Heat rose to her cheeks and ears again as Amelia quickly shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts.
She felt like she was as red as a tomato to others now.
Just how many times had Amon caught her off guard today and broken her composure?
It was a little frustrating, that he could make her fumble so easily.
But she couldn't deny that she enjoyed it more.
It brought a weird warmth to her heart and body when she was taken off guard. As if her heart would suddenly burst at that moment.
Things like these, shyness and embarrassment were new to her, especially when she never felt such things around Arthur and Athena.
For the students, she was always seen as the indifferent, down to earth beauty of the school. She wasn't cold or rude to them or anything. That was too cliche in her opinion.
It was more that because of her beauty, so many people approached her with ulterior motives along with their school matters that she had grown tired of rejecting them.
They were just too much. Which was why she just chose to maintain a strict and down-to- earth front.
A clear reminder to them to not even try doing it.
And it worked on everyone. Almost everyone at least.
The guy who had just left seemed to be immune to such things. Though she didn't mind or was disturbed by it.
It was already clear to them for the first meeting that Amon, from the get go, wasn't the type to approach her with ulterior motives.
Rather, their personalities quite matched, both of them wanting to just get straight to the point with others and loving their family.
A warm and gentle blush appeared on her face.
'Of course, you are like that.'
Back to the case in point, Amon was a completely different matter.
Talking with him and joking with him felt quite refreshing and comfortable.
It made her feel at ease and it brought down the burdens that she carried around for the day.
It was the same for today's outing as well.
A memory replayed in her mind as she thought about the outing.
That "date" joke they had.
Amelia thought that it was just a joke from Arthur but...
She fiddled with her fingers unknowingly.
Since they had done so much...
Maybe it was a date? Amelia quickly shook her head as she tried to keep herself from not melting at the spot again.
Suddenly, she saw Amon coming from the distance, a pile of tickets in his hand.
Coming over, Amelia gave him a smile, not knowing how hot she was still feeling. "Glad you are back." She smiled, but Amon didn't reply to her as he stared at her with a blank
stare.
Suddenly, his hand rose and came straight to her forehead, pressing against it as the cold from his fingers seeped into her warm skin like a moth to a flame.
Amelia was suddenly taken aback by his action, left speechless.
But even then, she made no effort to step back and remove herself from his hand.
Amon had an inquisitive gaze in his eyes as he kept her hand on her forehead.
Then, he leaned closer.
"You are hot but....."
Amelia's eyes suddenly widened at his line.
You are hot.
Amelia felt as if she was going to melt right then and there.
What was Amon saying?
But it was only then that she realized after he completed the sentence.
"You don't look like you have a fever."
'Oh.' Finally, it made sense to her.
But why did it suddenly feel a little frustrating, as if a cold bucket of water had been poured
over her warmth.
"You good?" He asked her, leaning even closer, their faces mere inches from each other as his
black eyes stared deep into her gold ones.
Amelia instantly reddened at the intensity of his black eyes.
There were people watching!
"Yeah, I'm completely fine, don't worry about it." She quickly shook her head with closed
eyes, trying to not open them to his gaze again.
Nodding with a smile, Amon turned back up.
"Welp, I got the pile of tickets so let's go and I'll show you how to play all of these games."
He grabbed her floral gloved-hand and pulled her.
Amelia showed no resistance though, she was quite used to it by his sudden hand-grabbing.
Rather....
A playful blush appeared on her face as Amelia followed him along.
And in the next moment, her hand squirmed and grabbed his hand properly, completing their
lock.
A laugh escaped out of her lips as an easing warm feeling crept up in her body.
It wasn't like the previous shy or embarrassment feeling.
It was one of joy and fun as she felt warm being in his company.
