Chapter 25: Chapter 25: This Is a Bad Idea
"This is just great," Sam sighed.
He found himself standing between two girls, one wielding a long spear and the other brandishing a sword.
Each weapon was aimed precariously close to his throat.
In reality, the girls were pointing their weapons at each other, and Sam was trying desperately to prevent them from clashing.
"Can you both lower your weapons? You might poke someone's eye out, and that someone could be me," he said, placing his hand over Isabelle's spear, which was dangerously close.
"Tell her to lower her sword first, and then I will lower my spear," Isabelle demanded, glaring at Yuki.
Sam turned his gaze to Yuki. "Would you please lower your sword?"
Yuki glanced at his face, meeting his eyes for a second before she lowered her sword.
Following suit, Isabelle also put away her spear.
"What's the problem here?" Sam asked, looking back and forth between them.
"She started it," Isabelle accused, pointing a finger at Yuki.
"What happened, Yuki?" Sam inquired gently.
"Why is she here?" Yuki asked, visibly irritated.
"She's going to be living with us... apparently," Sam replied, sounding as though he was resigning himself to some inevitable fate.
Yuki narrowed her eyes, shooting an irritated glance at Isabelle, who returned a similar expression.
Without another word, Yuki turned and stormed off, slamming her door shut.
"You..." Sam began, but Isabelle also turned and stormed off to her room, slamming the door closed.
The house was square-shaped, with three rooms and a hall on the first floor and one large room on the second floor.
Sam occupied the room opposite the main door, while Yuki had the left-side room and Isabelle the right-side room.
He had chosen not to take the larger room upstairs because it required more upkeep.
The students had to manage their own rooms, including sweeping, cleaning, mopping, dusting, and washing.
Everything was their responsibility.
Sam watched them go with a tired expression, using his charm to gauge their emotions. Reêad latest novels at novelhall.com
"Yes, I was angry," Isabelle's face turned into one of annoyance before reverting to a charming smile as she placed her hand on his shoulder and moved closer.
"I was expecting to live alone with you... maybe even spend time together... alone," she whispered.
Sam could feel her breath on his neck.
Normally, a boy would be over the moon in this situation, but not Sam.
He felt this was too good to be true.
Two gorgeous girls, whom he hadn't even known until a few days ago, from noble families, wanted to get close to him and even spend four years with him in a house.
Usually, it would take a lot of convincing, begging, and proving to get a girl to like someone, especially beautiful, talented women from noble families.
This was just too good to be true, but it really was happening to Sam, and he felt there was something wrong about this situation.
He could blame this on his charm ability, but even though he was handsome, he wasn't handsome enough to pull this off, and this only made the situation even more suspicious.
He suddenly had an idea and activated his other innate ability, the Eye of Truth, on her.
[Innate Ability Activated: Eyes of Truth]
His blue eyes had a faint light glow.
He could see a golden energy surrounding her that constantly entered and released from her body, but other than that, he didn't find anything abnormal.
"W-we will talk in the morning," he gently grabbed her hand and said before making his way out to his room.
He lay on the bed, exhausted, and sighed deeply.
"Having them live with me is such a bad idea. Why are my mother and grandfather making me do this?" he muttered to himself, staring at the ceiling.
"Part of me wants to enjoy this situation... two beautiful women showing interest in me? Who wouldn't want that? But another part of me refuses to believe they have genuine feelings for me, especially when I only met them recently," San sighed again.
"What should I do? Should I just tell them it's a bad idea to share this house?"
[Aren't you being a little too paranoid about this?]
