Chapter 6: The Cunning and Crafty Elder
Qi Heng's body froze for a moment as he stared in shock at the half-broken sword in his hand. The disbelief was evident in his eyes.
As the number one genius of Lingxu Sect, and the eldest disciple of the main peak, how could the sword he used be an ordinary one?@@@@
This sword had been gifted by the Grand Elder, forged from refined golden steel, capable of slicing through iron like clay. It had accompanied him for many years, never failing him, but now it had been cleaved in half by a sword qi.
The Grand Elder, who had been observing the battle secretly with the Sect Master and the Elder, thought he had misjudged, hurriedly rubbing his eyes, but the broken sword still gleamed brightly on the training field.
"Mo Yang, you..." Qi Heng snapped out of his shock and glared at Mo Yang, his eyes filled with cold fury, his face darkened to the extreme.
Mo Yang was still frowning, thinking back to the previous moment. The sword qi had dispersed after the strike, but it seemed to have decent power. If he could fully comprehend it, its power would surely increase.
By the time he raised his head, Qi Heng had already charged at him, abandoning the broken sword. Qi Heng formed a fist with one hand, and a dazzling aura enveloped his fist as he forcefully swung it toward Mo Yang.
"Fourth level of the Dominant Fist!" Some of the disciples watching the battle exclaimed in shock.
This was a set of aggressive and domineering martial arts, divided into five levels. The fourth level could only be used by those at the Earth Profound realm, as it required true qi to condense the fist force, capable of splitting mountains and shattering stones.
Among the disciples, only Qi Heng had reached the fourth level of the Dominant Fist.
"The fourth level of Dominant Fist!" Mo Yang's eyes narrowed. He knew well the power of this technique.
He had initially planned to use true qi to defend, but after a slight hesitation, he just threw his own punch to meet Qi Heng's.
"Boom..."
The two fists collided with a thunderous roar, sending a shockwave around them. The ground cracked under their feet, and both of them staggered backward.
With every step they took, the stone floor beneath their feet shattered.
The force of their clash was unimaginable!
The murmurs of the onlookers ceased, all disciples were stunned. They had never seen such an intense scene in previous sparring matches.
The most shocking part was that everyone could clearly see that Mo Yang hadn't used any true qi, relying purely on his physical strength, while Qi Heng had used the full force of the fourth level of the Dominant Fist.
A flash of surprise crossed Qi Heng's face before it quickly darkened. He looked at Mo Yang with a serious expression, his tone low, "I didn't expect you to hide your strength so well. Everyone thought you couldn't cultivate, but your power is the greatest!"
Qi Heng was serious, but then his tone shifted, "However, today I will get justice for my junior sister!"
Mo Yang was internally speechless and spoke directly, "Justice for your sister? Do you have a brain?"
Mo Yang's cultivation had been exposed as the first stage of the Earth Profound realm, yet now he had hidden his true strength!
How could Qi Heng accept this? He had always been the one on top, but now Mo Yang hadn't even used his full power.
As the first genius of Lingxu Sect, all the disciples looked up to him as their cultivation goal. At this moment, an overwhelming sense of defeat flooded Qi Heng, and all of his previous superiority seemed to vanish.
"The disciples of the sect should stop here, and not harm the peace!" The Elder finally revealed himself, his voice urgent.
Before any disciple could speak, he continued, "Quickly, take your senior brother away to treat his injuries. His cultivation has just broken through and needs time to stabilize before he can fully adapt to his newfound strength!"
This was clearly a way to give Qi Heng a way out and comfort him to prevent any lasting psychological damage.
Mo Yang glanced at the old man, inwardly impressed by his cunning, but he didn't care to argue. He turned and walked toward the exit of the training field.
The Elder made no move to stop him, and the disciples continued to discuss the scene. Su Fei'er glared at him with clenched teeth, but there was nothing she could do but watch him leave.
However, as soon as Mo Yang returned to the Wooden Peak, the Elder followed.
"What, does the Elder want to reward me?" Mo Yang noticed the Elder standing at the door of the small courtyard and raised an eyebrow.
He knew better than to face this old fox head-on. Not only was the Elder powerful, but his cunning nature made him nearly impossible to deal with.
"Hmph, reward? You think you can eat and run and then ask for a reward?"
The Elder's words made Mo Yang stagger, almost spitting blood.
What did he mean by "eat and run"?
Mo Yang frowned. The old man seemed angry, but there was no killing intent in his words. He couldn't figure out what the Elder was up to.
"Whoosh!"
At that moment, the Elder suddenly moved. His body flickered like a shadow, dashing toward him.
Mo Yang's pupils contracted, and he immediately activated the Lingxu Step to retreat at full speed, but it was too late. The Elder was too fast, his form like a ghost. After a few flashes, a palm slammed into Mo Yang's chest, sending him stumbling back.
Mo Yang felt a sharp pain in his chest. He was surprised, but anger also rose within him. He shouted, "Old man, I didn't expect you to be so unreasonable. Since you think so, I guess I’ll have to make things clear!"
Seeing Mo Yang retreating with a furious expression, the Elder's eyes flashed with an almost imperceptible look of triumph. He continued to pretend to be angry and moved toward Mo Yang once again.
Mo Yang didn’t dare hide anything anymore. He fully activated his power, and golden true qi surged around his body, emanating a powerful aura.
