Chapter 25: The Beautiful Sister
Chapter 25: The Beautiful Sister
After several hours of travel, Xuántiān City was now in sight.
At this moment, Mò Yáng’s expression subtly changed as he noticed a figure ahead, walking through the air without any external support.
This was the first time he had seen such a powerful person, able to walk in midair purely by their own strength.
“Above the Grand Master level... such a strong presence has never appeared at the Martial Arts Tournament before...” Xu Xīn was also surprised. Only those who had surpassed the Grand Master level, and reached the Warlord realm, could walk through the air as though walking on solid ground.
Moreover, this was a woman, seemingly no more than twenty years old, dressed in a long gown. Her long hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, and her figure was graceful and poised. As she walked through the air, she gave off an ethereal, otherworldly feeling.
“Tsk tsk, she looks like an elegant elder sister, and she's so strong too. I wonder which noble family she's from!” Mò Yáng said softly as he observed her. He had intended to ask which faction she was from, but upon speaking, it sounded somewhat off.
Xu Xīn snorted coldly when she heard this. Some people’s nature never changed; as soon as they saw a beautiful woman, they began acting like this.
Just as they were staring in amazement, the woman turned her head slightly, and two indifferent gazes swept across them.
Mò Yáng subconsciously spoke, “Tsk tsk, truly beautiful!”
Xu Xīn hurriedly reminded, “Stop staring. A person with such power must be from a major faction. She's not someone you can provoke. Be careful, or she might dig out your eyeballs!”
Mò Yáng, unimpressed, rolled his eyes. “Sister, you’re wrong. If someone’s so beautiful, shouldn’t we appreciate it? Just like the beautiful scenery in the world, only those who can appreciate it truly find meaning in it.”
He continued, “Besides, I have a pure heart. I'm only admiring her with a pure gaze!”
Xu Xīn was completely speechless. She had seen shameless people, but never such shameless ones. He was staring at the girl as though drooling and still making such lofty claims.
Sū Fēi'ér frowned, muttering, “What Mò Yáng said actually makes some sense.”
Xu Xīn’s face turned dark. These days, she barely recognized Sū Fēi'ér. Now, she was always siding with Mò Yáng, and even agreeing with his shameless excuse!
While they were talking, the woman had already walked far away, and within a few breaths, her figure completely vanished from sight.
Mò Yáng sighed, “To be able to walk through the air at such a young age... It looks like she’s heading towards Xuántiān City as well. Could she be coming to watch the tournament?”
Mò Yáng's heart stirred. This just showed how terrifying the geniuses of major factions were. At such a young age, they already had cultivation that surpassed the Warlord realm, perhaps even above it. They were far ahead of him, and not just him—Líng Xū Zōng's elders would be far inferior to these individuals.
After a short while, a middle-aged man came out with the young woman.
“Shopkeeper, this is the young man,” the young woman introduced.
The middle-aged man first sized up Mò Yáng for a moment, then his gaze swept over Xu Xīn and Sū Fēi'ér. Only then did he speak: “You want to sell Washing Marrow Pills?”
Mò Yáng remained calm and nodded. “The price for your Washing Marrow Pills is twenty thousand silver per pill. I’ll sell mine for fifteen thousand silver. Are you interested?”
Both Xu Xīn and Sū Fēi'ér were surprised in their hearts. Mò Yáng was bold. The pills they had exchanged for materials in their sect had only cost a few dozen silver, and now he was asking for several hundred times that price.
The shopkeeper squinted, observing Mò Yáng carefully, and then said, “We only sell pills here.”
Mò Yáng responded calmly, “How about ten thousand silver?”
The shopkeeper smiled faintly and scrutinized Mò Yáng, considering for a moment before asking, “How many do you have?”
“I have two hundred pills,” Mò Yáng replied.
The shopkeeper’s eyes flashed with a hint of surprise. Mò Yáng looked ordinary, and although they couldn’t discern his cultivation, Sū Fēi'ér and Xu Xīn weren’t strong either. He didn’t look like someone from a major faction.
Could he be from the Dan Sect? After all, where else would he have so many Washing Marrow Pills?
The shopkeeper hesitated for a moment, then changed his tone, his expression turning respectful. “I didn’t expect a young friend like you to have such a collection. Please, follow me upstairs.”
He said this and led the way, his attitude suddenly much more courteous.
Mò Yáng remained calm, nodding as he followed. But in his mind, he couldn’t help but wonder why the shopkeeper had suddenly changed his attitude. His first thought was the Dan Sect.
Sū Fēi'ér and Xu Xīn exchanged looks, both surprised and confused. They couldn’t understand what was going on. Sū Fēi'ér, who was more naive, didn’t think too much about it, but Xu Xīn felt that Mò Yáng was an increasingly mysterious person. The more she got to know him, the more she felt something unexplainable about him.
