Chapter 27, Day 2
Chapter 27, Day 2
July 29th, the second day of the exhibition—and also the last day.
As soon as the exhibition hall opened at nine o'clock in the morning, Su Chen was already standing next to B-237.
Xiao Wu set up the F2 camera in the open space, and Xiao Zhao set up his laptop next to the folding table, with the screen facing the aisle, displaying the live feed from the F2 camera.
At 9:15, the first flight began.
The changes today were immediate—the number of people coming to Zone B was twice that of yesterday.
The reason is not complicated: Of the more than 30 people who witnessed the F2 flight yesterday, at least half of them went back and mentioned to their colleagues or friends that "there is a small company called Hongyuan in the corner of Area B, and the flight control level of their drones that cost 2,000 yuan is incredible."
Word of mouth spreads especially fast in the closed environment of exhibitions.
By 10 a.m., nearly forty people had gathered around the open space.
Xiao Wu then began the new activity that Su Chen had arranged the night before – the "zero-foundation challenge".
He pointed to a middle-aged exhibitor among the onlookers who claimed he had never touched a remote control before, handed him the control handle, explained the basic operation in five sentences, and then stepped back.
The middle-aged man cautiously pushed the right joystick—F2 slowly rose to a height of two meters. He then carefully moved the left joystick—the drone moved forward a short distance, and immediately stopped in place after he released it.
"The handling is so smooth!" The middle-aged man's tone changed from nervous to surprised.
He became bolder, making the F2 weave left and right, rotate, and pull up. The movements were completely haphazard, but the machine responded smoothly to each command without any sign of losing control.
On the laptop screen next to me, the live feed from the F2 overhead shot was displayed simultaneously—even with clumsy operation, the recorded footage remained stable and clear.
"The picture quality is so good it's ready to be used immediately," someone exclaimed in a low voice.
Around 10:30, an unexpected visitor appeared at the entrance of the passageway.
A female reporter carrying a professional video camera hurried in, followed by a photographer carrying a tripod. Her name tag, hanging around her neck, read: YuChen.com.
Su Chen's heart skipped a beat—but his face remained expressionless.
YuChen.com. One of the most influential vertical media outlets in China's drone industry, a website that almost every practitioner reads.
The female reporter walked straight toward Su Chen.
"Is this Mr. Su? I'm Liu Yu, a reporter from YuChen.com. I listened to your speech at the forum yesterday and found it very interesting. I'd like to do a short video interview today. Is that convenient for you?"
"Anytime is fine."
The interview lasted about twenty minutes.
Liu Yu asked many questions—company background, product positioning, technical roadmap for flight control solutions, market strategy for ground sales, and sales data. Su Chen answered each question honestly and without exaggeration.
He didn't hide any data—more than 300 units sold per month, a week-on-week growth of over 30%, and eight ground sales teams covering five provinces. At the same time, he didn't make any grand pronouncements—there were no slogans like "challenging DJI" or "the next unicorn," he simply stated that "we have found our place in a neglected niche market."
The photographer also captured several shots of the F2 flying and footage of the "zero-basis challenge" segment.
At the end of the interview, Liu Yu said, "Mr. Su, to be honest, I was skeptical when I heard your speech at the forum yesterday. But after seeing the flight results with my own eyes today, I think your flight control solution is truly impressive. I will publish this article as soon as possible."
"Thank you, Teacher Liu."
After Liu Yu left with the photographer, Su Chen narrowed his eyes slightly.
The special report from Yuchen.com, coupled with the product review from Hardcore Innovation Network—if these two articles can be published together in the near future, Hongyuan's reputation in the industry will experience a qualitative leap.
The exhibition's second goal—establishing industry media relations—has been largely achieved.
We're still missing the third one.
