Chapter 204 204: Let's teach him a lesson III
In another part of the Academy, Serin sighed in relief.
After spending so much time and effort, she finally convinced Liora that she wasn't into Aramith.
But even with that, Liora only accepted it reluctantly, thinking Serin had lost interest in Aramith because of her.
She shrugged, waiting in the room with Serin for the news they'd sought.
It didn't take long before the door opened, and in came the boy they'd sent earlier to dig out info on Aramith.
He shared what he found, which wasn't much.
"That's far from enough. I need more before I can act." She placed her teacup on the table, then smiled at him, but the smile was chilling. "I don't think this is the best you can give me, right?" She asked nicely, but a glint in her eyes scared him, causing a drop of sweat to fall down as he gulped, taking a step back.
Serin, for the first time, wasn't bothered by that expression and danger. If this were some days earlier, she'd be scared as well, but now...
Aramith scared her more than this; she recalled the fear that took over her body when Aramith decided to act that day.
Liora turned to Serin and smiled. "Sorry, did I worry you?"
Serin shook her head, waving a hand. "It's fine, I'm not bothered."
Liora's eyes narrowed as a glint flashed in her eyes, but it was quickly hidden just as it appeared.
This was the first time Serin hadn't reacted to her when she threatened someone. Usually, Serin would ask her to stop, while afraid herself, but now...she didn't have much of a reaction. She even seemed lost in thought, not caring about what was going on.
She wanted a reaction. Maybe killing you will...
She raised a hand, and just when she was about to act, the door burst open.
"How dare you?!" She glared at the person who just walked in.
The disrespect!
The youth who'd just barged in realized his mistake and fell on his knees, banging his head on the floor in apology.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I just found someone who knows about Aramith! Please forgive me!"
The murder in her eyes diffused.
"Speak."
The youth released the breath he'd been holding, then got up, bringing another student in.
"Who's he? I asked for information." Liora asked.
"He said he knew about Aramith when they went to the tournament."
Liora raised an eyebrow.
"I didn't ask you to bring random people here. Just ask him and come tell me," she scolded dismissively.
The new student was disappointed.
"I-I wanted to meet you, senior!" He put on a dignified expression, attempting to appear impressive.
Liora just rolled her eyes.
"Another dumb fan," she muttered, disgusted. She knew of the abundant males who adored her, wanting to get her attention. And there were only a few that caught her eye. Few like Aramith.
Having a boring student like the one before her left a bad taste in her mouth.
"Fine, spit it out."
He bowed deeply before standing straight with a frown. "I went with the group for the tournament and saw Aramith's abilities firsthand."
Serin was intrigued, though her heart skipped a beat.
After seeing how dangerous Aramith was, she wanted to know if he showed the same skills and character when he went out.
The youth took a breath before continuing. "He's dangerous and very troublesome."
The corner of Liora's lips curved upward.
"And why do you say that if I may ask?"
He nodded. "I saw with my own eyes how he easily defeated students from other top schools, and the way he did it was very vicious and like an animal."
Liora frowned, not liking that the boy she was interested in was being likened to an animal.
He quickly noticed the displeasure and rushed, sweating.
"It wasn't my way of describing him, but many students in our school, as well as other academies and institutions, said the same thing! They were afraid of him, and he couldn't be touched. When our teachers wanted to confront him, his teacher protected and defended him, even threatening the other teachers."
He wasn't lying, and he wasn't telling the truth either. This youth had been there, and though he witnessed a few scenes, he didn't witness all, and heard a lot of what he was saying from his friends.
This was the reason why he believed what he was saying to be nothing but the truth.
"Everyone observed him, and it was clear he wasn't that powerful, but he even challenged the top and undefeated student from the Glacial Empire, Princess Kesha.
And he came out unscathed. The rules in Yumaris during the competition were that no one was allowed to use any artifacts, but it's obvious he used some hidden artifact to become more powerful, and when asked, he denied it, and his teacher defended him as well.
She's more powerful than the other teachers, so none of them were able to do anything or say anything."
He watched her expression, noticing how invested she was.
Serin, however, wasn't so sure. Her fingers tightened slightly. An artifact...? It didn't look like that.
"I asked around and found out no one likes him because he's abusing borrowed power. Please, you should—"
"That should be enough," she raised a hand to stop him. "You're not the one to tell me what to do." She nodded slightly, and the other youth who'd brought him in got up and ushered him out.
He hesitated, not wanting to leave yet, but was forcefully brought out.
Liora turned to Serin, who had a frown on her face.
So it was an artifact that made him strong...but what if he's wrong?
"What's on your mind?"
Serin looked at Liora, then shook her head. "What will you do now?"
Liora smiled. "I'll save him."
Serin tilted her head, confused. "Save him?'
She nodded. "He has a terrible name now, and no one wants to deal with him. I'll just need to extend an olive branch, which he cannot reject. With everyone dismissing him, he'll happily accept my help."
Serin didn't find any flaws in this reasoning, just that...He didn't seem the type to want help...
She was about to voice out her concerns when the door was opened. The student who just barged in was breathless and sweating.
Liora raised a fist.
"If this wastes my time, you won't leave this room."
He quickly apologized, fearing her wrath. "It's Aramith! He's been spotted outside his teacher's residence. I'm not sure, but it seems he's heading towards the cultivation grounds."
Liora smirked, then laughed. "Seems even the heavens are with me."
She stood up. "Then his savior won't keep him waiting."
Serin felt a shiver, feeling things weren't going to be as simple as it seemed.
