79-19 Deep Dreams
Hong Qi spread her arms wide, and boundless winds gathered, whipping her long-dusted skirt into flight. The wind at her palm formed a shield, with a little water seeping in through the gaps, and the wind shield billowed, blocking the destructive waves.
Qinglan watched the waves crash against the wind shield before her again and again, glancing back at Xian Niancheng, then back at Yan Fuxue, her musical notes flashing. Yan Fuxue created an ice wall ahead, and Qinglan burst forth from the wind shield. The moment she shattered the ice wall, Yan Fuxue's palm unleashed a burst of icy energy, creating another ice wall in front of them. The two of them continued forward through the giant waves. Hong Qi simply lowered her head, but felt a sense of relief for the two children.
Fan Ni spoke, and at the same time, countless water bullets appeared behind them, attacking the two from the side: "Is it worth risking everything for a con artist?" Qing Lan looked at the water spheres being blocked by the newly formed ice wall and said, "She's raised me for so many years, how could I not know? Even if she's a con artist, so what? Having hope is better than having no hope, even I know that." Hong Qi's eyes flickered slightly. Fan Ni replied, "If you were also suddenly dragged into this, you wouldn't say that!" Before he finished speaking, water spheres gathered in front of them, then a jet of water shot out, piercing the ice wall and causing it to shatter, sending countless crystalline ice fragments flying.
Glistening fragments fell before Mo Bei's eyes, crashing to the ground. Through the reflections of the still-present fragments, Mo Bei saw: auspicious colorful clouds, ravines and deep valleys, an ancient town on the horizon, and a deep well shrouded in black mist. However, he simply stared blankly at his head, his eyes vacant like never before.
Dongfang Laolin's eyes were vacant, then filled with the sudden burst of firelight shooting towards the sky. From a distance, it was the Heavenly Realm of Chaoguang; firelight spread everywhere, from the junction of the wilderness to the junction of the other three places. He noticed a figure walking against the firelight towards the place where the myriad waters and the heavenly ice converged.
As Sewei walked through the fire, a water bullet came hurtling towards him. His fist, encased in bone, shattered the bullet with a single punch. Qinglan withdrew his hand, a hint of schadenfreude in his voice: "Luckily, I was smart enough to wrap my hand with musical notes beforehand. This time, I'm in the atmosphere." He then tossed an air cushion at his feet, launching him high into the air before he landed on the ice wall Yan Fuxue had conjured, a gentle breeze still lingering beneath his feet.
Just as Qinglan was preparing to attack Fanni, she noticed a sudden surge of fire erupting all around her. Yan Fuxue quickly conjured ice walls, a gentle breeze stirring their surface. The fire lashed against the ice walls, causing cracks to appear on their surface, and even the wind felt hot. Below, Fanni smirked, "Laolin, you've arrived!"
Just as the ice wall was about to shatter, a bone bullet shot into the battlefield, hitting Fanni, and the water receded violently. Seeing Fanni fall, Lao Lin gasped, and at the same moment, he and the others looked towards the spot where the bone bullet had been fired. Sewei stood on a building, mirroring their gazes.
Sewei leaped down, and Qinglan took the opportunity to land as well; otherwise, in the air, maneuverability was low, making them easy targets. Qinglan said, "Yan Fuxue, isn't that the wanted criminal?" Before Yan Fuxue could reply, Sewei spoke first, "I'm saving Meng..." He froze for a moment when he saw Qinglan, "Qing...Lan?" Qinglan also heard Sewei calling him and said, "You know me? Am I that famous?" Qinglan looked at Yan Fuxue, who lowered her voice, "Don't you think everything's been strange since you entered Mengdi? First, there was the Dream Bubble, then the disappearance case and a bunch of riots." Qinglan thought for a moment and nodded, "Yes, that makes sense." Hong Qi was nowhere to be seen at this moment, leaving only a few dark shadows.
Sewei looked at the two of them, a smile playing on his lips. Qinglan saw this smile reflected in her eyes and turned to Yan Fuxue, saying, "Did you see that? He's smiling at me! Looks like I was right, I'm still too famous." Yan Fuxue shook her head: "Can you tone down your narcissism? In a novel where there's not a single wasted word, how could the reason be so simple?" Qinglan lowered her head in thought, slowly uttering three words: "Indeed." When she looked up, she found that Sewei had disappeared at some point, leaving only the two of them looking bewildered.
Dongfang Laolin searched for Sewei atop the central tower: "Where's that pretty awesome guy? Luckily I didn't go down directly to support Fanni, or I'd be dead." Sewei leaned against the GG sign behind him: "Are you looking for me?" Dongfang Laolin, hearing this, didn't dare turn around, secretly lowering the flame in his hand, preparing to ambush Sewei. Sewei witnessed this, shattering Dongfang Laolin's hand with a single shot, and before he could cry out, he shot him in the head. A crack appeared behind Sewei, and the Ghostly Dream emerged. Sewei turned to face the Ghostly Dream's engulfment.
Cold...icy cold...
Sewei's left arm was severed by a single shot, the intense pain dispelling his drowsiness. He looked up at the landscape; in the far distance, swirling clouds of colorful clouds rose and fell, below which lay a small town; closer still were endless ravines and valleys, where countless eerie dreams lingered; and before him stretched pale grasslands overgrown with dark grass.
As soon as Sewei stepped onto the dark grass, black mist immediately rose up and swirled around his foot. Using his bone grappling hook, Sewei launched a piece of bone that hooked onto a nearby wall, thus avoiding the entangling black mist.
A sensual atmosphere hung on the wall: "Is this... a deep dream?"
