Reaper's Resurgence: A System Reset

B5 | Chapter 51

B5 | Chapter 51

Within an Up and Coming Dimensional BlockAla’setrala, the Astral Seeker who guided the Ascendants who were hunting the Quantum Reaper, feels his panic growing worse and worse with every Legendary Feat message that plays in his vision. All without stopping for even a moment as he makes his last preparations to flee from his own nation.

Legendary Feat – Transcendent Collector

Alexia Knight has become the first user to attain a Transcendence tier item!

Ala’setrala’s eyes widen at the third Legendary Feat related to the tier he didn’t even know existed that appears in his vision.

Without hesitation, he gathers up the last of the items he’s stored in his manor before immediately flying away. He doesn’t even bother trying to divine her location since he knows for a fact it won’t work.

She already had resistance before Ascending, and when he tried divining her location immediately after seeing the first Legendary Feat, he couldn’t find anything from it. Not even a scrap of information.

In fact, he faced a backlash instead. As if he had just run face first into a wall.

But after only half an hour, he feels an immense aura flooding the entire Dimensional Block. Meanwhile a System Message plays out in his vision.

{The Dimensional Champion of Dimensional Block #108 has entered the contested territory previously belonging to Dimensional Block #791. Should your Dimensional Council declare war on Dimensional Block #108 you may challenge the Dimensional Champion to a duel so long as you are still within the same Dimensional Block. The winner of the duel will therefore claim control of the Dimensional Block for their own Block and the Dimensional Wall between the Blocks will no longer require Authority to pass through for citizens of the Blocks. Furthermore, should your Dimensional Council declare war on Dimensional Block #791, if you capture or kill the Dimensional Leader of Dimensional Block #108, you will be given one hundred votes on the Dimensional Block #108 Council for a single vote. One only usable for declaring Dimensional Block #791’s surrender towards Dimensional Block #108.}

Ala’setrala ignores the message as he flies even faster. But just a moment later, he finds the very woman he’s terrified of appearing right in front of him.

Unlike the disheveled appearance she had before, when he and the others were chasing her, she now looks like a terrifying monster. The scariest thing he’s ever seen.

Her long, deep purple almost black hair is billowing in the wind around them as her glitching purple eyes look at him with a completely indifferent expression on her face. As if she came just to exterminate a bug and not an Ascendant.

She’s holding a scythe leisurely leaned up against her shoulder, with the blade pointed behind her back and her head slightly tilted to the side.

But unlike before, she now has hints of black energy running through her body alongside the quantum energy.

Energy of a devourer.

And her aura now far surpasses his own despite him being a higher level than her.

It only takes him a brief moment to come to a decision before he shouts, “Wait! Don’t kill me! I can help you find the oth-”

His words cut off as the Quantum Reaper teleports right up to him and grabs him by the throat. Crushing his throat just enough to silence him.

“Stop talking already,” she mutters, sounding more like she’s exterminating vermin than going after Ascendants, just like her gaze expresses.

And without another word, she crushes his throat and makes a pitch black maw of devourer’s energy appear in front of him.

Making it the last thing he sees before everything goes dark with the sound of a crunch and a brief flash of pain floods him being the inside of the maw.

Alexia

I yawn after using my new racial skill to devour the guy’s energy.

It’s a good thing that I’m not actually devouring their bodies, because that would be absolutely disgusting. Instead the skill is just devouring their energy and converting it to my own energy.

Their body is just kinda destroyed in the process.

Completely erased.

I tap my finger on my scythe as the System Message about my new skill claimed from the diviner guy appears.

[*New Active Skill* – Astral Seek: You may search through the astral realm for information you desire.]

Not a bad skill.

It’s nice to get skills unrelated to quantum magic for a change. Even if quantum skills are really good.

On that note, this new skill is the main reason I went after this guy first. Since he’s the only diviner amongst the Ascendants.

I don’t know if he’s able to divine me or not, but it’s best to just deal with the diviner now. Then hunt the rest of the rats at a leisurely pace later.

It helps that I left a bit of a mark on each one of these Ascendants during our last battle. So they can’t really run from me.

Surprisingly enough, only two thirds of them are even trying.

Then again, these are a bunch of people who decided to attack me. So they aren’t exactly smart to begin with.

I yawn at that thought as I begin teleporting to the next target in mind. One of the Ascendants who managed to blast away half of my torso while they were attacking me.

He was the one who got the biggest hit off on me, and I feel slightly irritated by that.

So he’s up next.

With that in mind, I quickly teleport to Dimensional Block #222. Where the target is currently.

And when I find him? I find him fleeing from his nation.

Just like the diviner guy was.

These people are cowards…

Not that I can really blame them. They made a gamble and lost.

Or, to be exact, I can and will blame them. But still. Point made.

Anyway, I slice the guy in two with my scythe before taking his power too and getting another skill.

At least I’ll have a large assortment of skills to choose from and fill my new skill slots by the end of this.
