Chapter 1239: You Don’t Have to Keep Watching Us
Seeing that Lily Turner finally woke up, Sophia Wood came into the room and walked straight over to the bed, "You’re finally awake."
Her daughter had slept for a whole day and night, and she missed her daughter terribly.
"Mom!"
Knowing that she had worried her mom by sleeping for too long, Lily Turner looked apologetic.
Sophia Wood came over and stood by the bed, reaching out to touch her daughter’s head. "Now that you’re awake, have something to eat. You need to replenish your body."
Although her daughter was awake, it could still be seen that she was very tired, and her complexion was not great.
"I just had a bowl of chicken soup." Remembering how Easton Holmes had fed her the chicken soup mouth-to-mouth, Lily Turner felt her cheeks flush slightly, fortunately not too obvious.
Easton Holmes hadn’t yet put down the bowl in his hand when Sophia Wood caught sight of the empty bowl and then turned her gaze back to her daughter. "Then hold off a bit and have some congee later."
Besides the chicken soup, Aunt Li had also brought over some century egg and lean pork congee; Sophia Wood was in the hospital room when Aunt Li delivered it.
"Okay."
Lily Turner wasn’t hungry at all and didn’t want any congee, but to avoid worrying her mom, she nodded her head in agreement.
Easton Holmes wasn’t as easy to fool as Sophia Wood was; he didn’t believe Lily Turner’s words at all, but he didn’t expose her, "Didn’t you want to hold the baby? Now that the baby is back, you can hold him."
He turned sideways, placing the bowl on the cabinet, then gestured to the nurse holding the baby, "Bring the baby over."
Seeing this, the nurse changed directions, carrying the baby towards the two people seated on the bed.
"Give the baby to me."
When nearing the bed, Amelia Linton reached out to stop the nurse holding the baby. The nurse glanced at Easton Holmes and Lily Turner, and seeing they had no objections, she handed the baby over to Amelia Linton.
After handing the baby to the baby’s grandma, the nurse sensibly left the hospital room.
Amelia Linton was worried that the inexperienced Easton Holmes and Lily Turner might not hold the baby properly, so she accepted the baby before the nurse could give him to them. She didn’t want her precious grandson accidentally hurt by his inexperienced parents.
"Hold carefully."
Amelia Linton didn’t keep the baby in her arms but placed him carefully into Lily Turner’s arms. She remained bent over, her eyes fixed intently on the baby.
Sophia Wood stood nearby, clearly observing Amelia Linton’s cautiousness. As the baby’s grandma, she could understand Amelia Linton’s carefulness and concern.
But Easton Holmes couldn’t understand. The baby was his and Lily Turner’s son; the two of them were closer to the baby than anyone else. How could they, as parents, not be careful with him?
"Mom! You don’t need to keep watching us. Lily and I will be careful with the baby." Having his mom hover close didn’t bother him, but his wife would definitely mind, and being nervous could lead to mistakes.
Being called out by her son, especially in front of her daughter-in-law and her in-law, Amelia Linton felt both embarrassed and awkward, but she kept her composure on the surface. "Got it."
She tried to keep her voice calm, her demeanor and attitude as natural as possible.
Despite numerous worries in her heart, after speaking, she straightened up.
Without her mother-in-law’s relentless gaze, Lily Turner felt much more relaxed holding the baby.
