Chapter 100 Buying Recipes
And of course, Lucian was aware of their situation, which he would be a fool not to use to his advantage.
As for Chef Lucian's second suggestion of increasing their Mage Rank. How could someone simply increase their Mage Rank? To advance a single Rank took a lot of time and effort.
However, his words did ignite a fire in them. It was true that as long as they increased their Mage Rank, they could try the other menu item.
"Can Chef Lucian add another dish-
suitable for our Mage Rank to the menu?"
The twins suddenly asked, breaking the silence within the restaurant. If the rule could not be changed, then so be it. However, as long as another dish they could eat was added to the menu, then their hunger problem would be solved.
Immediately after the twins spoke, eight pairs of sparkling eyes stared at him, waiting for his answer with hope.
Lucian remained undeterred by their gaze. Inwardly, he was frowning. He wanted to add more dishes, but the System would not allow him. More specifically, the System would not provide free ingredients unless it provided the recipes. It was too stingy.
However, he still asked, [System, do you sell recipes?]
[Of course.] The System replied arrogantly. [How could the almighty Gourmet Chef System not sell recipes?]
[However, Host, do note recipes bought from the Shop Feature are different from recipes rewarded upon Quest completion.] The System added solemnly.
"I will consider adding another dish," Lucian said to the eager customers before entering the kitchen.
Lucian was inwardly excited that he could buy recipes. His thought process was simple. More dishes meant more money. The faster he paid off his loan, the safer he would feel.
"Haha, my stomach can't wait. Chef Lucian, remember not to take too long in creating a new dish for us." Hervy laughed excitedly.
The others were equally excited, and filled with anticipation for Lucian's future dish. After all, so far both his dishes have been culinary masterpieces.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Lucian was preparing the six plates of Siren's Melody Poached Egg, while he continued his conversation with the System.
As a chef, multitasking was easy for him.
[How are the recipes different?] Lucian finally asked as he swiftly cracked six Siren's Melody Eggs into a saucepan. [The recipes currently available in the Shop Feature do not provide a cooking experience. Therefore, the Host should pick a recipe he is familiar with and confident in cooking.] The System solemnly advised.
If he could have a better version of the recipe, then of course, he would choose it.
Lucian had always been decisive and that would not change today.
[I want to purchase the Sweet Berry Cream Glazed Dough Balls and Cheese and Herb Garlic Butter Dough Balls recipes.]
[Very well.] The System responded.
[Purchasing... Failed!]
[The Host does not have Gold Coins. Would you like to use the conversion ratio of 1000 Gold Coins to 1 Low-Grade Mana Stone?
[Yes.]
<{2 Low-Grade Mana Stones have been converted to 2000 Gold Coins.}>
<{Conversion complete.}>
<{Transaction successful.}>
[Host, the recipes have been added to the Status Screen] The System said solemnly.
[I'll check the recipes after I serve my customers.] Lucian replied. He took out the six poached eggs from the saucepan and placed them on a paper tower. Once the excess Mana Water evaporated from the poached eggs, he plated them, sprinkled Dragon Fly Flake Salt, Frostfire Black Pepper, and a pinch of chopped Netherbane Chives on them.
With that six plates of Siren's Melody Poached Egg were done.
Now, all that was left was to serve his hungry customers, who had been silently watching him from the serving hatch.
As if reading his mind, Lily entered the kitchen with two dirty plates in her hands.
[Big Brother Lucian, Lily has finished eating breakfast. Lily will serve the customers.] Lily said after placing the plates in the sink.
[Okay, but serve two plates at a time. After my restaurant closes, you can practice with more dishes.]
Lily nodded. Unlike her Big Brother Lucian, who could balance plates on his arms, she could barely serve two plates.
