My Dad, the Demon King, Is a Big Problem

Chapter 19

Chapter 19

As expected of the male lead, Meteor’s observational skills were razor-sharp.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, I replied, “...Well, I’m fine for now.”

“That’s impossible. Unless you have divine power, you can’t be unaffected.”

Hearing this, Countess Heylroth’s eyes widened in shock.

At that moment, a faint sound of someone collapsing came from behind us. Turning around, I saw several noblewomen and their children unconscious on the floor.

This was no time to waste.

Meteor seemed to realize this as well and spoke quickly, his voice urgent.

“For now, it’s a relief that you’re unaffected by the miasma. But we must find the door and rescue my mother immediately.”

“There’s no time to lose. Let’s split up and search!” I shouted before he could say more. I already had an idea forming in my head.

“I’ll check that way!” I pointed toward the staircase and immediately ran in that direction.

“Hey, wait!” Meteor called out behind me, but I pretended not to hear.

The miasma was already higher than my head. The thick, shadowy fog made it nearly impossible to see what lay ahead.

It was obvious that everyone else had already succumbed to it.

Only a demon could devise such a cruel challenge—demanding we find a door and solve puzzles while drowning in toxic miasma.

While Meteor focused on finding the door, I had another plan: saving Rearwin.

As I hurried up the staircase, I reached out to the Saints through the system.

‘Saints! Can I use the Teleportation Token in the Demon Realm?’

I still had 19 of the tokens left. I’d originally received 20, but I had used one to travel from my house in Neverland to the orphanage.

If I remembered correctly, the tokens couldn’t transport me from the human world to the Demon Realm, but they could be used for travel within the Demon Realm itself.

‘Yuri Gabriella, the Lily Druid,’ says that it’s possible, but only for yourself.

Perfect!

It was unfortunate that the token could only transport me, but now wasn’t the time to be picky.

I quickly used a token.

‘Take me to where Rearwin is!’

I wasn’t sure if targeting a person as a destination would work, but it was worth a try.

The thought barely crossed my mind before my vision went black.

One ‘Teleportation Token’ has been consumed!

Remaining ‘Teleportation Tokens’: 18.@@@@

When my vision cleared, I found myself in a study.

The decor—dominated by black and violet hues—confirmed that I was still inside Aldred’s mansion.

So, it works on people too.

I stepped further into the room. On a sofa draped in purple fabric, I spotted Rearwin. Her long silver hair spilled over the cushions, and she lay motionless.

She wasn’t dead, was she?

“Who the hell are you?!”

“Me?”

I smiled faintly and used another token, teleporting directly in front of her.

“I’m the daughter of the Demon King you revere so much.”

“!”

Aldred’s face contorted into an expression of pure disbelief and horror.

She staggered back, dropping Rearwin in her panic. I managed to catch Rearwin’s head and shoulders, but my small body wasn’t enough to support her fully.

Thankfully, I could feel the steady rhythm of her pulse. She was alive.

“L-Lies! The Demon King doesn’t have children!”

“And how would you know? The Demon King hasn’t been around for 500 years.”

I gently laid Rearwin on the ground and stepped toward Aldred. She retreated instinctively.

“Would this convince you?”

I reached into my inventory and pulled out a framed portrait—one of my father and me. I held it up so Aldred could see.

I didn’t particularly enjoy revealing my identity to this demon, but I had little choice. If I wanted to ensure everyone’s survival, this was the only way.

Trusting Meteor alone wasn’t enough.

In the portrait, my father and I bore an undeniable resemblance, down to our golden hair. Even though he had become the Demon King, his appearance hadn’t changed much from his human days.

Aldred’s face twisted as she took in the painting.

“...If you don’t want to get tangled up in the Demon King’s family drama, you’d better release all the humans and let us go. If my father finds out you harmed his beloved daughter, you’ll have more trouble than you can handle.”

“Y-You’re lying....”

“Oh, and one more thing—keep this a secret. My father isn’t particularly fond of people knowing he has a human daughter.”

I added the warning for good measure. After all, the last thing I needed was my identity becoming public knowledge. Fear of the Demon King should keep Aldred in check.

“You... damn brat....”

Aldred gritted her teeth, spitting out curses.

Would she believe me? Even if she didn’t, the possibility alone should keep her from acting rashly.

Suddenly, Aldred froze, her head snapping upward as if sensing something.

“...No! The door—! It’s open?!”

“!”

What?

The door was open?

Could it be that Meteor had already found it? How?

“H-How did they find it?! That’s impossible! Agh!” Aldred clutched her head, clearly panicking.

At the same time, the ground beneath us began to shake violently.
