The atmosphere thickens with tension as Xian Tian and Tia stand over the mysterious Karmic Veda.

Xian Tian's mind was abuzz with thoughts. It was clear that Tia had ulterior motives in bringing him here, but he played along, feigning ignorance.

"Perhaps you're too close to it," he offered, trying to hide his suspicions. "Sometimes, a fresh pair of eyes can reveal what you overlooked."

Tia's eyes narrowed slightly as she studied Xian Tian's face. It was as if she was trying to see through his act.

"Perhaps that's true," she said, her tone cautious. "But I need to know I can trust you to keep any secrets you might uncover..."

Xian Tian's pulse quickened, but he managed to keep his cool. "You can trust me, Senior Grandmaster," he replied, using the term he knew she expected from him.

But in his mind, he knew the truth.

He could never trust her fully, not while she had that hidden dragon whose origin was devouring others.

Tia's eyes widened slightly, her guard lowering just a fraction at the sound of his formal address.

After a moment, she seemed satisfied with what she saw and nodded slowly.

"Very well," she said, her voice measured. "I appreciate your offer of assistance. The truth is, I have been struggling to fully decipher the Karmic Veda on my own because I lack Dragon insight and essence..."

She paused, glancing back down at the ancient scroll. "There are layers of complexity here that go beyond mere words or symbols. I believe uncovering its deepest secrets will require a... delicate touch."

Tia regarded him for a long moment since he was repeating that he would keep the secret making things suspicious, after all, he wasn't a good actor.

Her expression ews unreadable... Then, finally, she inclined her head in a slight nod thinking he might just be excited.

"Very well," she said. "Then let us begin."

Saying that, she starts to undress, only leaving the laced stockings.

He kept his gaze politely averted, focusing instead on the Karmic Veda before them.
