Head and arm parts of the habits have metal plates attached on the inside, while other areas are covered with chainmail, but it seems the weight of that wasn’t an issue. After the bath, I did some light stretches and Taikyokuken, just enough not to break a sweat, to stabilize my body and qi before fleeing to my room. The girls had come out of the bath… but seriously, could they not walk around the inn in babydolls, negligees, or chemises? That kind of thing is instant death for a Highschool Boy. I managed to flee right away, so I received only a near-lethal damage, but I was this close to being rendered immobile in a very Highschool Boy kind of way. That was a real one-shot crisis of premature detonation!

Refining the blade of the rapier, I make it thicker, heavier, and sharper. It’s still a prototype, but the quality’s good. The balance is slightly off, but I can fix that by making the hilt heavier. With this, they should be able to cut through even knights in full armor without it bending or breaking… but that would also mean killing them. The girls’ safety is far more important, there’s no room for debate, but still… if possible, if there’s any way to avoid it, I don’t want them to go through nightmares at night. They are far too kind for killing people.

But Merimeri-san told me something before. She has killed people before. After I rescued her, she apparently executed some bandits to steel herself as a noble protecting the frontier. A weapon focused on stabbing, but with enough edge to slash, capable of piercing without needing to target the gaps. Not a self-defense tool, but a weapon meant to kill. It can be used to fight monsters just fine, and if it’s a human… A single blow would be enough to end them.

「You don’t have to steel yourself. You could just cry and throw a tantrum forever, and that’d be fine too, you know~? Even so, you’d still need weapons, wouldn’t you.」
