Chapter 310: Killcam Chasedown, New Heroine?
Chapter 310: Killcam Chasedown, New Heroine?
Scott was still soaking in the cold water and squished tightly between Maya and Dark Elf who were both competing to keep him warm with their breasts. One has the bigger breasts and while the other didn’t have much in that department, her star power was very useful in giving him an warm cuddle session.
Maya pouted as she leaned back slightly in the water to look up at Dark Elf. She whined like a baby and crossed her arms over her bare chest.
"Hey! It’s my turn to put Scott’s face in my chest! You’ve had him for long enough!"
Dark Elf didn’t even blink. She kept her arm firmly wrapped around Scott’s head, holding him secure against the bouncy meatsacks on her chest. She stared down at Maya with half-lidded, tired eyes.
"He hasn’t complained about my chest so there’s no need for him to change. Isn’t that right, Scott?"
Scott didn’t answer.
He stayed quiet and happily kept his mouth shut tight inside the sports bra. He was experienced enough to know this was a trap. More than that, if Dark Elf was the one asking the question, then it was definitely a trap.
One wrong word and he’d either get drowned or have his hair ripped out by his ex-girlfriend.
"Hmph!"
Maya puffed her flushed cheeks out and threw an annoyed glare at Scott’s trapped head.
"So because her breasts are bigger, you don’t want to rest your head on mine? What, do you think my ribs are gonna stab you?! Or my solar plexus is gonna grate your face?! I am not that flat goddammit!"
Scott let out a muffled sigh as he kept his head rested against Dark Elf’s bouncy chest.
Women. No matter what you did, they were still going to find something to fault you for. Maya had just gone from arguing with Dark Elf to shouting at him, which made him highly suspect she only asked that ridiculous question just to shift all the attention and blame onto him.
"It’s my turn too!"
Maya shouted and started pulling Scott away from Dark Elf’s tight sports bra.
"Besides, I’m the one providing you with the heat right now! Or did you suddenly forg—"
"Shhh!"
Scott and Dark Elf told her at the same time as their hands flew out and pinched Maya’s mouth shut.
Maya’s eyes widened in surprise, her lips squished together like a duck as she frowned a little, trying to pull away.
Scott’s eyes were sharp now.
He looked up at Dark Elf.
"Did you feel that?"
"...Yeah..." Dark Elf gave a serious nod.
They both let go of Maya’s lips.
The petite pulsar immediately started to pet her mouth and rubbed her sore lips as she whimpered.
"Ow, ow, ow! What was that for?!" .·°՞(ᗒ□ᗕ)՞°·.
"Be quiet for a bit..."
That was all Scott said.
His blue eyes scanned the distant treeline and the rooftops overlooking the beach.
Maya tilted her head, still very confused.
"What’s going on? Why are you guys acting so strange all of a sudden? It’s... weirding me out."
Dark Elf stared at Maya with her signature dead eyes.
"We’re... in a death zone right now."
"Death zone, huh?" Maya murmured.
She looked at Scott and saw that he was also calm and barely moving even with how freezing the water probably was for his regular human skin.
"Maya..."
Scott whispered as he snuck a peek at the sky.
"Since your powers are working again, the moment I give you the signal, I want you to grab me and Dark Elf. Create a powerful star barrier around us and fly straight for my GT-R. Is that clear?"
Maya nodded quickly as her face went serious.
"Then what’s the signa—"
She didn’t finish her sentence before Scott’s hand snaked underwater and gave her shapely, pudgy butt a very firm and alarming squeeze.
EEEK! Maya squeaked with a bright red face.
But the sudden shock weirdly activated her powers.
Purple star power flared wildly around her body, and she immediately scooped Scott and Dark Elf out of the freezing water, lifting them into the air.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The sky suddenly erupted.
High above them, the cloaked drones deactivated their camouflage and their sniper rifles and heavy machine guns flashed killer red as they unleashed a rapid-fire hail of bullets down on their position.
But Maya was already moving.
A vibrant purple energy barrier formed around the three of them as the incoming high-caliber bullets disintegrated the moment they hit the star shield.
Far away on the rooftop, Killcam watched the purple sphere rise out of the ocean through her binoculars. She spat her cigarette out in disbelief.
"Fuck me..." she muttered.
Killcam didn’t waste more time. She tapped the side of her camera eye, accessing a massive, heavily armored killer drone stationed at the highest point of the buildings just a short distance from the beach area.
"Whatever. It’s not like Ghost said he wanted a clean job anyway, so I might as well go all out. God, I hate having to kill these fucking supes!"
Her camera eye took a high-speed tracking picture of Maya as the girl flew toward the parking lot. It was thank to her optical cybernetics that she could actually see Maya and not just a purple streak of light.
The snapped picture took a second to trigger.
In response, the massive armored drone deployed its heavy weapon pods and transformed open to reveal deadly rows of high-explosive ordnance.
FWOOSH! FWOOSH! FWOOSH!
A volley of powerful missiles shot into the winter sky and curved sharply in mid-air as they locked straight onto Maya and the others.
Looking through the purple barrier, Scott saw the trail of rockets screaming toward them.
His eyes widened to the size of baseballs.
"HOLLYYYY FUCK!"
BOOM! BOOM!
A large explosion rocked the sky, enveloping them in a thick cloud of black smoke and fire. Down below, the few bystanders on the beach screamed, running for cover as debris rained into the ocean.
But Maya was an A-tier hero for a reason.
She effortlessly cleaved straight through the smoke and increased her speed. In a split second, she touched down right next to the Nissan GT-R.
The star barrier dropped.
Scott and Dark Elf scrambled to put on their clothes.
Maya looked like a proper madwoman from her wild hair to how much she was panting... and the fact that she was still half-naked didn’t help matters either.
"What is going on?!"
Maya shouted, grabbing her baggy red top.
"Who’s trying to kill us?! And how in the world did they know we were out here?!"
Scott yanked on his black B-3 style bomber jacket and tossed a white hoodie into her face.
"Put this on! I promise I’ll explain on the way! For now just go, go, go, dammit!"
He hurried them into the sports car.
Up on the building.
Killcam gnashed her teeth as she watched them pile into the black sports car.
"Sa ei lähe kuhugi."
She growled fiercely after.
Scott slammed the door and spoke into his wristwatch.
"Access GT-R mainframe! Auto-pilot mode!"
The AI voice of the wristwatch spoke smoothly:
[Please provide full vehicle registration details and vocal verification sequence—]
"ISN’T MY VOICE ENOUGH?!"
Scott urgently shouted.
[Verification accepted. Initializing tactical auto-pilot.]
The GT-R’s twin-turbo V12 engine roared to life.
The tires spun and kicked up snow as it sped away from the parking lot.
Killcam’s camera eye snapped a lock-on photo of Scott who didn’t go with them. Instantly, a rain of heavy caliber bullets from the overhead drones came sawing down toward him like he was an army and not one man.
"Deploy Shadow Factor Suit!"
Pure darkness instantly swallowed his body and formed into a sleek, high-tech black armor.
He punched a crater in the snow-covered ground.
BOOM!
The shadows across the entire beach parking lot rippled violently. A titanic wall of intersected, dark spikes erupted from the earth and formed a solid barrier that blocked the hail of incoming drone bullets.
"FUCK!"
A distant shout sounded from the high-rise building.
Scott’s helmeted head turned in that direction.
Up on the building, Killcam quickly ducked behind the concrete ledge and slapped a hand over her mouth as her heart hammered against her ribs.
"Fuck... did he see me...?" she whispered.
It was glaringly clear this man was formidable.
If he knew her location, he was probably warping straight here to kill her.
『I’ll have to kill him first.』
She took a breath, gripped her weapon, and peeked back over the ledge.
But the parking lot was completely empty.
Scott had already run away to rejoin the GT-R.
Killcam’s eye went half-lidded in disgust.
"Sa kuradi argpüks..."
She hissed like a vicious snake.
Down on the streets, Scott jumped from one shadow to another using his Shadow Factor Suit.
Zip!
He appeared in the shadow of a fat guy with a hotdog.
"Sorry!" Zip!
He warped into the shadow of a walking woman.
"Coming through!" Zip!
He appeared between a horny teenage couple kissing against a brick wall. The two teenagers accidentally ended up sucking right on the black texture of his helmet.
"Ehehe... my bad!"
He kept warping from shadow to shadow across the boardwalk, pushing his speed until the moving GT-R finally came into his line of sight. Palms out, Scott formed several dark whips of shadow energy that latched firmly onto the rear spoiler of the sports car.
The dark whips yanked him forward, pulling him along at high speed like a wakeboarder!
Inside the car, Maya was about to die of panic.
"Where the hell is Scott, dammit?!"
From how she saw it, they pretty much left Scott behind and that made her terribly uncomfortable.
Dark Elf leaned back against the leather seat and yawned a little as she calmly closed her eyes.
"He’s fine. Don’t worry about it."
"Fine?!"
Maya rambled as her arms flailed wildly.
"Did you not see all those killer drones in the skies?! It was shooting friggin’ missiles at us! How can you say Scott will be fine?! He isn’t superabled you know!"
Dark Elf shrugged nonchalantly. "I dunno..."
Maya frowned deeply as her eyes charged with a great measure of star power.
"That’s it, I’m flying out there to help him! Believe it or not, I used to be an A-tier hero!"
Just as she reached for the door handle, Scott pulled hard on his shadow whips, slingshotting his body through the air. He landed perfectly on the roof of the sports car with a loud THUD, deactivated his Shadow Factor Suit, and flipped skillfully through the open window straight into the driver’s seat. He deactivated the auto-pilot right after.
A worried Maya immediately grabbed the collar of his bomber jacket, shaking him frantically.
"Where were you all this damn time?!"
"Buying us some time!"
Scott shouted and took the steering wheel.
Dark Elf took one casual look out the side window and put her head back in three seconds later.
"...Fuck you..."
"What?!" Scott glanced at the rearview mirror.
There were hundreds of killer drones flying behind them with numerous ballistic weapons equipped. They looked like a swarm of angry hornets with their flashing red lights and consistent buzzing.
"I tried my best, okay?!"
Scott shouted, checking his blind spot.
"We just have t—"
BANG! BANG! BANG!
A massive storm of bullets chewed up the road behind them like it was made of paper. Scott yanked the steering wheel hard to the left, swerving the GT-R into the crowded streets of Atlantic City to lose their line of sight.
Tink! Tink! Tink!
Several heavy rounds managed to clip the rear bumper and side panels, but they bounced harmlessly off the chassis thanks to the high-grade ballistic upgrades Scott had installed a few months back.
"I can fly back there and go stop this!" Maya yelled.
"No!"
Scott fired back as he weaved through traffic.
"That woman is an assassin. Natural-born assassins don’t go after targets unless they’re 100% sure they can kill them. She probably has a nerve toxin, a power dampener, or something specifically designed to make killing a supe easy. You’d be walking into a trap!"
Maya blinked.
"How do you even know she’s an assassin?!"
Personally, she didn’t even know there was a woman controlling these drones.
"Just put on your seatbelt and trust me!"
Scott yelled as he glanced into the rearview mirror and saw the calm woman in the back.
"Dark Elf, you might need one too, you know."
Dark Elf adjusted her cropped hoodie, sitting perfectly still as the car drifted around a sharp corner.
"...It’s fine. It’s not that fast to me..."
Scott smirked confidently.
"Oh, you sure about that? I made a few special upgrades this morning."
He slammed his foot flat onto the accelerator.
The quad exhaust pipes of the GT-R breathed out bursts of blue plasma flames like a raging dragon. The car jolted forward and flew down the snowy street like an actual black bolt of lightning!
High above the city, Killcam wasn’t giving up.
She had deployed a high-tech, compact jetpack onto her back, a tactical mask covering her face as she flew through the sky at breakneck speeds. Her camera eye was active and remote-controlling the remaining drone swarm to shoot down the sports car below.
"Target locked. FIRE!" she commanded.
The drones dove into the civilian sectors and unleashed hell on earth.
Down on the streets of Atlantic City.
It was utter madness.
"Oh my god, it’s a terrorist attack!"
A man in a trench coat screamed, accidentally dropping his hot coffee straight into his wife’s lap as the GT-R drifted past his sidewalk at 120 miles per hour.
"Look at that drift!"
A teenage skater dude yelled and just ignored the rain of drone bullets hitting a nearby fire hydrant. BOOM! The hydrant exploded which launched a massive geyser of water into the air that temporarily blinded three pursuing police squad cars.
WEE-WOO-WEE-WOO!
The Atlantic City Police Department had officially joined the party. Sirens wailed from every direction as six cop cars tried to box Scott in, unaware that they were driving straight into a high-tech warzone.
"Get out of the way!"
Scott roared as he pulled the handbrake and executed a flawless J-turn through a crowded intersection to miss a city bus by mere inches.
Maya couldn’t believe her eyes. Her ex-boyfriend was meant to be some kind of academic genius that would develop all sorts of technology in the future, maybe discover the cure for cancer, and a few other things to boot.
Right? Right...?
『SO WHY THE FUCK IS HE SO GOOD AT THIS?!』
Maya’s eyes were wide and bulged out.
Dark Elf, however, just slid from one side of the leather seat to the other as the car pulled massive G-force. Her face was always, totally blank.
"...You missed a turn..."
"I DIDN’T DAMMIT! I’M AVOIDING THE DRONES!"
Scott yelled back as sweat dripped down his forehead.
He aggressively shifted gears.
Pzooooom! The GT-R bolted forward even more.
Almost ten minutes had passed.
Scott’s arms were growing heavy, tired of getting chased down by both a crazy cybernetic assassin who clearly didn’t give a shit about discretion, and the entire Atlantic City police squad. The streets were getting tighter, and the red flashing lights behind them were only multiplying.
"This literally cannot get any worse..."
Scott groaned, tightly gripping the wheel.
Maya sighed. "I can just—"
"NO."
Scott didn’t even want to hear it.
『System, can’t you lock in for once today and win me a superheroine in Atlantic City for fuck’s sakes?! Where’s the backup when I actually need it?!』
Maybe it was the system, or maybe it was the most efficient prayer in history... but it happened.
FWOOOOOOSH!
A massive, blinding beam of hot pink energy shot down from the heavens and tore through the sky. It slammed into the road right behind the GT-R and created a towering wall of pink plasma flames.
The trailing police squad cars slammed on their brakes as their tires screeched in terror. Thankfully, the wall of pink flames was only used to block off the street.
The couldn’t be said for some of Killcam’s drones that got vaporized into molten scrap in seconds.
There was a woman. Her curvaceous, nearly naked body was shrouded in pink flames. The fire strategically covered her chest and lower body, flowing upward into a long mane of flaming hair.
Hope appeared in the eyes of many civilians.
"Look, that’s Blissfire!"
"Wowww, she looks so beautiful."
"She’s the reason I came to Atlantic City!"
Scott looked up at the woman wreathed in flames.
