Chapter 389 In other ways

The demon looked at Nessa and when he saw the way she looked, he already knew part of what she may be thinking and he scoffed then opened the door to the living room and she glanced at him.

"Come on, also don't think too much about what I say, it won't do you any good," He said and she sighed then entered the dining hall and the others looked at them.

"Good morning," Nessa said and the others greeted her as well then she sat down along with the demon.

Without wasting any time, Nessa and the others began eating their food since they were hungry and many of them had other things to do.

While they were eating, Nessa glanced at Mikala as well as her father and she noticed that some of the people among them were quieter than usual and she sighed.

'Well, I understand what is going on here but, how long will this go on for exactly? Kyle is being normal with them as well, as is Jovan, the look in his eyes yesterday, I know them all too well,' She thought then sipped her tea and the demon glanced at her then his eyes narrowed.

"Nessa, can I talk to you for a few minutes after this?" The king asked and Jovan glanced at them then Nessa smiled at him.

"Fine, I have a few minutes to spare," She responded and he smiled at her then bowed his head a little and the demon looked at Kyle and saw that he was looking at Nessa.

'I don't know what the hell they are thinking but one thing is for sure, this is going to turn into their biggest mistake of their lives, depends on what they do next, things are not going to turn out all nice and sunshine,' The demon thought with his eyes narrowed, then he continued eating his breakfast.

"Nessa, are you ready for the ball tonight?" Mikala asked and Nessa glanced at her then her brows furrowed and she didn't answer the girl then Mikala laughed.

"Yeah, I understand what you are trying to say and I will do it, I will try my best when she is concerned, you don't need to worry about anything, I can give her what you need me to," She responded and the king exhaled deeply, feeling a bit more relieved than before.

"Good, I am glad to hear that, right now, you are my only option, one who I can turn to," The king said and Nessa patted him on his shoulder.

"I am glad I could help you, leave your daughter to me, I will help her to the best of my abilities," She replied and the king nodded.

"Also, there is another thing, has there been any sort of update as yet?" The king asked.

"You can say in a way yes and in a way no, we are not certain but will fully be soon." She responded.

"Good, knowing that you guys are the ones helping with this, it puts me a little bit at ease, I know how dangerous they are and hope that nothing happens during the ball tonight or it won't be good," He said.

Nessa sighed, since he had every right to be worried, especially with the way the enemies had being handling things lately.

"Let's just hope that nothing happens for now, but we still have to be careful, it could literally happen at any time and they don't say when they are coming," She replied and the king nodded with a smile on his face.

"Well, that's it for now, there are more things that we have to discuss, but, let's just leave it there, you go ahead to meet her, she must be waiting in the town, I know, I am not sure, just take a peel," He said and Nessa nodded then he left.

Nessa exhaled deeply, since even she had gotten quite tired then both of them left the castle, heading to where Mikala was, just so that they could meet her and so that Nessa could do what she was asked, even begin her preparation for the ball, even though she didn't want to do.
