Mafia's Little Angel : Married To The Cold-Blooded Devil

Chapter 28 - Meeting In-Law (Part 1)

Chapter 28 - Meeting In-Law (Part 1)

"I heard you're married." Ainsley said as he puffed nicotine fumes from her mouth into the air.

David took a stick of nicotine too and sandwiched it between his upper and lower lips. "Yes, why didn't you come? Didn't you accept the invitation?"

Ainsley went back to smoking her cigarette in silence. She could not possibly say that she finished four bottles of whiskey that day because she could not accept the truth. David, who had been the reason why she wanted to be stronger so she could stand tall in the face of this dirty world, had found someone who would accompany him for the rest of his life.

It's an absolute bullshit if Ainsley wasn't feeling envious to death.

To be honest, Ainsley is very curious right now, who is the lucky woman who can melt the heart of a demon on the battlefield like David.

To be honest, Ainsley is very curious right now, who is the lucky woman who can melt the heart of a demon on the battlefield like David.

If it is for looks, of course Ainsley will not be outdone. Maybe, it's about the body?

Ainsley looked down. To her own chest.

Well, maybe it's about the body.

Although Ainsley did not know that David was not a lowly man who would melt because of the size of someone's chest and hips. If David is that kind of person, he has been dating international models like Candice Swanepoel and Gigi Hadid for a long time.

"I was in New Zealand at that time." said Ainsley carelessly, making David smile faintly.

David burns the tip of the nicotine stick using a zippo-style lighter with a platinum coating on the body of the lighter, sucks the calming morphine deeply into his lungs and exhales slowly. "You can't fool me."

Ainsley turned to look at David. "Please think of it like that, I have my own reasons."

The woman threw the remaining half of the cigarette in random directions, exhaled the last puff of nicotine smoke and stood in front of David, causing David to frown.

"How about we spar for a bit to reminisce about the past? Three rounds is enough." Ainsley offered, smiling lopsidedly at David. However, David's answer disappointed Ainsley.

"Sorry, I have an appointment to take Angeline to her family's place. Maybe next time."

Ainsley stared blankly at the ground below. "Even that lucky lady's name has the same preposition as mine."

"What did you say just now?" asked David who didn't understand what Ainsley was saying just now.

Ainsley sighed heavily and looked back at David, giving him a rather forced smile and shaking her head lightly. "No, it's nothing. Next time I'll wait for our 'practice'."

Ainsley stepped into her sport motor-bike, put on the full-face helmet that covered her entire face and turned the key to start the engine.

Without saying a word Ainsley pulled the throttle lever in her right hand, shifted into level one and slowly released the clutch she was holding in her left hand, sending the bike away from where David was.

David stood up, threw his cigarette to the ground after taking the last sip, sat in the wheel and drove out of his meeting place with Ainsley.

David did not realize that Ainsley had stopped not too far away, only to watch David leave. A single tear escaped Ainsley's eyes. She closed her helmet again when David's car turned at a crossroads and was out of sight.

With tear marks on her cheeks, Ainsley got back on her bike with a bitter smile. "I hope you live happily with her." she said, driving her motorbike at a speed far above the normal limit for traffic signs.

"David? Where are you taking me?" asked Angeline, who had been staring out the Lamborghini Veneno window with a confused expression.

"To your family's house, where else?"

"But this is not right the way." David replied and turned the car and stopped in front of a checkpoint with several men in uniform complete with assault rifle-style firearms hanging from their shoulders.

David rolled down the car window and handed a small white envelope to one of the officers. After taking out a piece of paper and glancing at it, the officer made a gesture like he was beckoning another officer to raise the post portal and let David through.

David stopped the car in the parking lot, got off first to open the door for Angeline.

Now they are standing in front of the entrance to a prison which is quite far from the city.

David stroked Angeline's head gently, "We'll visit your uncle first."

Now Angeline understands the reason why David brought her to a place like this.

David walked beside Angeline while a warden led them in their way with a locked-mode gun in hand. And now they are in a room where inmates meet the people who visited them.

You can see several tables filled with people in uniforms typical of prisoners and their respective relatives. Some were crying in front of their parents, joking with friends, there was even a prisoner holding his child with his wife sitting beside him.

Angeline sat at one of the empty tables, while David stood a few feet from where Angeline was sitting. He burned the tip of the nicotine stick that was sandwiched between his upper and lower lips and enjoyed the calming morphine for him a little away from Angeline.

A man wearing a typical convict uniform walked over to Angeline and sat across from Angeline's seat, only a small table was between the two of them.

The person's face reminded Angeline of what happened that night, the night where she was almost raped by her uncle and two of his friends.

Angeline clenched her hands together, took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. And when she had regained her courage, Angeline smiled at her uncle.

"So I heard you're married?" asked Uncle Joaquin, glancing at David, who was standing quite far from where they were. "Is that your husband?"

Angeline nodded with a smile. "Yes, he is my husband."

Uncle Joaquin watched David from head to toe. The sight of the clothes David was wearing made his lips smile very wide. "Good job. Looks like your husband is someone very rich. Hey bitch, hurry up and tell him to get me the fuck outta here."

"How are you?" asked Angeline, trying her best to divert the topic of conversation, but what happened next made everyone's attention turn to the two of them.

Slammm! ...

The table in front of Angeline was pounded very hard by Uncle Joaquin. "Hurry and tell him to pay my security deposit so I can get the fuck outta here, you ignorant bitch!"

A prison officer holding a firearm walked toward him with the intention of returning Uncle Joaquin to the detention cell. But David stopped him, making the prison security guard discourage him. "Take it easy, he is my father-in-law, I'll take care of it."

David stubbed out his nicotine sticks in a nearby ashtray and walked over to the table where Angeline and Uncle Joaquin were loosening their ties. David sat next to Angeline and stared intently at Uncle Jopaquin's eyes, which was staring back at him with displeasure.

The reason why David doesn't want to be close to Uncle Joaquin is that David is afraid that he will not be able to hold back his emotions when facing someone who has wronged Angeline.

But now he has gone too far by calling the woman he loves an 'ignorant bitch'.

Because in all honesty, David could easily have turned this tiny prison on the outskirts of the state into a building filled with corpses.

Angeline understood the meaning of David's gaze. Angeline quickly grabbed David's hand and took him away. "Goodbye Uncle Joaquin, next time I'll visit you again."

The girl just didn't want David to go to jail for beating someone in front of the prison officer who was on guard with a gun.

Even though Angeline didn't know, it should be these people inside the prison building that should be worried about if David had lost his temper.

The two of them were already in the car, and David was hitting the wheel really hard to take out his rage on the man who had called his wife an 'ignorant bitch'. At least he had to pluck Joaquin's tongue so that the man could no longer talk dirty about Angeline.

Angeline could only be silent to see David's anger that was rising. She understood why David was so angry. In her heart, Angeline was happy because David took her place to get angry, because after all Angeline couldn't be angry with the person who had accommodated her first, especially Joaquin was her uncle.

David sighed heavily, "All right, now we're going to visit your aunt's gra-- ... your aunt's place."

"Gra? Gra what?" asked Angeline, frowning. David didn't answer and immediately drove the Lamborghini Veneno out of the prison compound.

David felt there was no need to explain it to Angeline.. When they get there, Angeline will understand it herself.
