Chapter 212: The foundation of a territory
Chapter 212: The foundation of a territory
When Rover and Nanoe returned to room 2705, the atmosphere inside was still fairly lively.
Sunako was standing behind the sofa, seriously kneading Thunder Dragon’s shoulders as if it were the most important mission of her life. Thunder Dragon lay stretched out on the cushion, eyes half-closed, occasionally emitting a very satisfied "Krit." Nanami sat beside her older sister, chatting with Monica while curiously looking at everything around her. Rilia still kept a cold expression, sitting in a corner of the room, but the spider silk on her wrists had been loosened quite a bit by Elith.
Morie stood before the diagram of room 2705.
No more wheelchair.
No more frail appearance of someone who could only sit behind observing.
Her slender legs stood firmly on the floor. Her platinum hair fell onto her shoulders. One hand rested on the body of the [Titan Soul-Sealing Tower]. The silver-gray runes on the building’s surface occasionally lit up, making the aura around Morie carry a heaviness that was very difficult to describe.
When the door closed behind Rover, Morie immediately turned her head.
"Results already?"
Rover didn’t immediately answer.
He walked to the table and took two items from his backpack.
The silver-black badge was placed down first.
Then the construction card covered in golden light.
The moment the card touched the table surface, small sounds of metal clashing rang out in the air. Like somewhere very far away, hundreds of hammers were simultaneously striking blazing forges.
Everyone immediately went quiet.
Even Sunako stopped kneading Thunder Dragon’s shoulders.
Rover pushed the two items forward.
"Sunny gave them."
Nanoe stood beside him and calmly continued: "The badge is an item Rover’s father left behind. When Rover reaches Survivor level 6 and chooses to leave the apartment complex to establish a territory, it will bring us to a coordinate prepared in advance."
She pointed to the construction card.
"And this is the [Equipment Production Workshop]. Legendary rank."
The atmosphere in the room immediately changed.
Selina slightly narrowed her eyes.
Monica’s eyes went wide. Even Rilia couldn’t maintain her completely cold expression as before.
Morie stepped closer, her gaze falling on the information panel appearing in mid-air.
....
[Construction Card: Equipment Production Workshop]
[Rank: Legendary.]
[Type: Territory building.]
[Usage Condition: Owner must have their own territory.]
[Effect 1 — Mass Production: After providing blueprints and necessary resources, the Workshop can automatically produce equipment along an assembly line.]
[Effect 2 — Optimization: When producing the same type of equipment repeatedly, the Workshop automatically reduces resource consumption and shortens production time.]
[Effect 3 — Auto-Research: When provided with complete weapons, armor, or equipment, the Workshop has a chance to analyze the structure and generate corresponding blueprints.]
[Effect 4 — Standardized Equipment: Can produce synchronized equipment for armies, exploration teams, or territory defense forces.]
[Special Effect — Legendary Workshop: As the territory expands, the Workshop’s scale can develop accordingly. No limit on number of production lines.]
....
Morie read every line.
Then she raised her head to look at Rover.
"Sunny gave you this?"
"Mm."
"The conditions?"
"After we establish a territory, he wants a safe position, enough resources to get by, and the right to join explorations he finds interesting."
Morie thought for a few seconds, then nodded.
"Not expensive."
Sunako blinked.
"Not expensive?"
Morie looked at her.
"For a Legendary-rank building capable of mass-producing equipment, those conditions are very cheap."
Sunako immediately nodded as if she understood perfectly.
"I think so too."
Elith glanced at her.
"You just asked whether it wasn’t expensive."
Sunako seriously answered: "I was only checking whether Great Lady Morie shared the same view as me."
Elith said nothing more.
Because she felt arguing with Sunako would only exhaust herself.
Nanoe walked to the table, her fingertips lightly sliding over the construction card. The smile on her face was still as gentle as usual, but her gaze had become much sharper.
"Before, we only knew that after leaving the apartment complex, the scope of development would be greater. But the understanding was still very vague."
She looked at everyone.
"Now it’s different."
Nanoe placed the badge beside the construction card.
"We have a location."
Then she took out the [Real Estate Certificate for Self-Selected Area] and placed it beside the other two items.
"A safe initial zone."
Her finger lightly tapped the [Equipment Production Workshop].
"A building."
Finally, Nanoe’s gaze fell on Rilia and Sunako.
"Potential manpower."
Rilia frowned.
"You’re referring to the Ice Wolf Tribe?"
"Yes." Nanoe answered very naturally. "The Ice Wolf Tribe has combat capability, the ability to operate in cold environments, organization, and a female general strong enough to command."
She turned to Sunako.
"Your tribe has knowledge of the fog-covered areas, special resources, and routes that ordinary Survivors don’t necessarily know."
Sunako stiffened slightly.
She hadn’t expected that after hearing just a few sentences, Nanoe had already begun viewing her tribe as part of a larger plan.
Nanoe continued: "If we only save people, they’re a burden. But if properly arranged, the two tribes can become the first layer of manpower for the territory."
Rilia looked at Nanoe for a long time.
"You’re calculating very far ahead."
Nanoe smiled.
"Preparing now is still a little late."
Morie stood beside the diagram and gently nodded.
"If we only wait for the system to drop rewards, the pace of development will be too slow."
She raised her hand.
The lines of light on the room 2705 diagram immediately expanded outward. The corridor. The staircase. The basement. A few areas near the apartment complex that Elith had preliminarily scouted. Then the dense fog covering the entire range beyond.
"To leave this place, we must accumulate more resources."
Morie spoke very calmly.
"Omni Points."
"Crystals."
"Materials."
"Information."
"Maps."
"And combat experience in the fog."
She paused for a moment.
"We can’t wait until we’re thrown outside and only then begin learning how to survive."
Rover looked at the diagram, then looked at the items on the table.
He really liked this feeling.
At the start, room 2705 was only a small room in the middle of the apartment complex. The room door was the only thing preventing monsters and Survivors outside from flooding in. He had to accumulate Omni Points bit by bit, carefully weigh every door repair, every food item, every skill.
But what about now?
The door had been upgraded.
Defense towers had appeared.
Tenants were increasing.
Morie controlled the defense.
Nanoe managed the plans.
Elith had scouting spiders.
Selina, Monica, Rilia, and Thunder Dragon formed a combat force sufficient to make most Survivors not dare casually provoke them.
In Rover’s hands there was also a territory coordinate and a Legendary-rank building.
Everything was beginning to connect.
Rover slowly curved his lips.
"Divided into three stages."
Everyone looked at him.
Rover pointed at the diagram.
"Stage one: use the seven days of rest to explore the surrounding area, find resources, and establish safe routes."
Then he pointed at the badge.
"Stage two: reach level 5, prepare for surpassing level 6."
Finally, Rover’s finger came to rest on the [Equipment Production Workshop].
"Stage three: leave this cage."
"Place the territory."
"Build the base."
"Swallow every resource that can be swallowed."
Rover’s voice wasn’t loud.
But no one in the room doubted his resolve.
Nanoe looked at him. The smile on her lips became even softer.
Morie also slightly curved her lips.
Sunako swallowed.
For some reason, she suddenly felt that the choice to cling to Rover’s coattails was the wisest decision she had ever made in her life.
Rilia was still silent.
But her gaze had changed.
Before, she had only thought about surviving, then finding a way to save the Ice Wolf Tribe. But if Rover could truly establish a territory, with a Legendary-rank equipment production building, with land prepared in advance, then saving her tribe was no longer too distant a hope.
Perhaps this truly was an opportunity.
Not a good opportunity.
But the only opportunity she could see.
Rover looked around at everyone.
Then his gaze settled on Sunako and Rilia.
"Before we continue discussing exploration, there’s still one matter to handle."
Sunako blinked.
Rilia slightly narrowed her eyes.
Rover stood up.
"The bed has been upgraded."
The atmosphere in the room immediately became strange.
Monica lowered her head.
Selina curved her lips with clear interest.
Nanami looked at her older sister, seemingly not understanding why everyone had suddenly gone quiet.
Sunako froze.
A few seconds later, she finally looked at Rover.
"Great Lord Rover..."
"Mm?"
"This matter to handle... is it the kind I’m thinking of?"
Rover looked at her.
"Perhaps."
Sunako immediately flushed.
Rilia maintained her calm expression, but the wolf ears on her head shifted slightly, then slowly turned pale red.
Nanoe looked at both of them and softly said: "The effects of the [Peaceful Bed] and [Garden of Eden] can help the two of you unlock your innate gifts faster."
She held no pointless jealousy whatsoever.
On the contrary, Nanoe’s gaze was very calm.
"Seven days isn’t long."
"If we want to explore the surrounding area, room 2705 needs as much strength as possible."
Sunako looked at Nanoe, then looked at Rover.
She took a deep breath, trying to keep a serious expression.
"I understand."
"This is a strategic investment."
Rover looked at her.
"You learned that phrase fast."
Sunako nodded.
"I have very strong adaptability."
Rover didn’t say anything more.
He walked toward the bedroom.
When his hand rested on the door handle, Rover turned his head to look at the two new women.
Sunako gripped the hem of her maid dress tightly. Her expression was so tense she looked like she was preparing to enter a life-or-death battle.
Rilia stood beside her, still trying to maintain her cool, but her wolf ears had completely betrayed her emotions.
Rover opened the door.
"Come in."
Sunako swallowed.
Rilia took a deep breath.
Then both of them stepped into the bedroom together.
The door slowly closed.
Nanoe looked at the door, then turned around.
The gentle smile on her face didn’t change.
"Alright."
"While Rover handles things inside, let’s continue."
She placed her hand on the diagram.
"We start discussing the exploration plan."
